- The Talarians attack the Federation colony of Galen IV, decimating the population.

- The Galaxy class USS Enterprise-D is commissioned out of the Utopia Planetia Shipyards on Mars.

- First contact is established with the Ferengi Alliance.

- Following the destruction of multiple outposts along the Romulan Neutral Zone, the Federation is contacted by the Romulans, breaking over 50 years of self-imposed isolation. Their first active contact since the Tomed incident in 2311.

- First contact is made with the entity known only as Q.

- First contact with the Borg.

- The Federation-Cardassian Armistice is signed, bringing an end to the extended conflict between the Cardassians and the Federation that had been ongoing since 2347.

- The Federation is attacked by a Borg cube, which annihilates the New Providence colony on Jouret IV, as well as the freighter USS Lalo.

- Chancellor K'mpec, the longest lived chancellor of the Klingon Empire, dies after being poisoned. Gowron is elected as Chancellor after his death, this sparks several weeks of conflict within the Klingon Empire, between the House of Duras and their supporters and the House of Gowron and their supporters. This conflict later became known as the Klingon Civil War.

- The Battle of Wolf 359 11,000 lives are lost on the side of Starfleet, with 39 Starships destroyed by the invading Borg Cube. The Cube was later destroyed while engaged in orbit of Earth.

- The Defiant Class project is started.

- The Klingon Civil War ends in the early weeks of 2368. Exposing Romulan influence to be behind the military might of the House of Duras. Gowron his claim to the title of Chancellor is legitimised.

- The Cardassians withdraw their occupational forces from the Bajor system, after 50 years of occupation.

- The Bajoran provisional government requests Federation aid, Starfleet and the Bajoran militia take joint control of Terok Nor, a Cardassian facility in orbit of Bajor. The station is renamed to Deep Space Nine.

The first stable wormhole is discovered in the Bajor system.

- The Federation-Cardassian Treaty is signed, establishing a Cardassian/Federation Demilitarised Zone.

- Following the treaty the Maquis Rebellion is established, fighting against the reassignment of their homeworlds to Cardassian control as the DMZ is established.

- First contact is made with the Dominion.

- After contact with the Dominion the Defiant-class project is reinvigorated, the first of its class assigned to Deep Space Nine in early 2371.

- The Klingon Empire declares war on Cardassia and invades Cardassian held territories. The Federation denounces these attacks, in response the Klingon Empire withdraws from the Khitomer accords. The situation deteriorates into open war when the Klingon Empire annex the Archanis sector.

- First contact is made with Species 8472, by the USS Voyager, a Starfleet vessel stuck in the Delta Quadrant.

- The Borg invade Sector 001, before it's destruction the Cube is able to create a temporal anomaly in an attempt to assimilate Earth in the past. Their attempt is thwarted by the crew of the USS Enterprise-E.

- The conflict between the Federation and the Klingon Empire is ceased when General Martok is revealed to be a Dominion infiltrator.

- Chancellor Gowron reinstates the Khitomer Accords, ending the conflict with the Federation.

- Cardassia joins the Dominion, the Detapi Council is dissolved and Legate Dukat is put in charge of the Union under Dominion oversight.

- The Maquis are all but wiped out by a Dominion task force.

- The Dominion signs non-aggression pacts with the Romulans, Tholians, Miradorn and Bajorans.

- After three years of 'cold war' between the Dominion and the Federation, Stafleet bars entrance to the Alpha Quadrant by placing a minefield at the mouth of the Wormhole. The Dominion responds by invading the Bajoran sector and taking control of the space station Deep Space Nine.

- Operation Return, one of the greatest engagements of the Dominion War, takes place. The Bajor sector, including the Federation space station Deep Space Nine, is recaptured by combined Federation and Klingon forces.

- The Dominion invades and occupies Betazed

- The Romulan Star Empire joins the Federation and Klingon alliance after a plot to attack Romulan assets is uncovered.

- A combined Federation, Klingon, and Romulan fleet successfully invades the Chin'toka system, often cited as the first sign of the turning tides in the war.

- The Breen attack on Earth takes place, in which Earth, specifically San Francisco, is attacked and severely damaged by Breen forces.
- An allied fleet of Federation, Klingon, Romulan and Cardassian rebels launch a successful attack on Cardassia Prime.
- The Treaty of Bajor is signed, ending the Dominion War.

- Fleet rebuild project commences switch of focus from defense to exploration in a post-Dominion War galaxy.

- USS Voyager returns from the Delta Quadrant using, and in the process destroying, one of the Borg’s Transwarp hubs. They deal a crippling blow to the Borg’s transwarp capabilities and unknown damage to the Borg Collective as a whole.

- A Reman revolution overthrows the Romulan government. After Starfleet intervention the military leadership in charge of the coup was thwarted.

- After the failed Reman revolution, the initial approaches between the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire are continued, marking the beginning of a new era of peace for both powers. Several vessels, led by the USS Titan, are dispatched to the Romulan Neutral Zone in order to begin talks with the Romulans.

- Luna Class design first launched.

- The first UFP colony is established in the Gamma Quadrant.

2380 -

- After two years of respite there is a Borg resurgence, conducting a full-frontal assault on the United Federation of Planets.

- Riots break out in the city of New Samarkand on Alpha Centauri, precipitated in part by the mass influx of refugees from the Borg Invasion.

- The extended Borg incursions lead to the destruction of around 40% of the Federation’s Starfleet. Estimates around the Alpha and Beta quadrants are that over 60 billion people lost their lives.

- Somewhere during this time one of the Borg Cubes attacking Romulan space experienced a submatrix collapse. It is later reclaimed by the Romulans, and they established a Reclamation site.

- After taking heavy losses by the joint Alpha and Beta quadrant forces the Borg withdraw. There has been no sign of an active campaign against the Alpha and Beta Quadrants since.

- Following the crippling extended conflict with the Borg, the Tholian Assembly spearheads the foundation of the Typhon Pact featuring the Romulan Star Empire, Breen Confederacy, Tzenkethi Coalition, Gorn Hegemony, Tholian Assembly and Holy Order of the Kinshaya. Through the pact, all member states gain access to Cloaking technology.

- The Cardassian Union continues to recover from the effects of the Dominion War. They are invited to attend a summit concerned with the expansion of the Khitomer Accords.

- Federation re-allocates resources from Cardassia to Romulan space, upon reports about the instability of the Romulan star. The Cardassians get upset over the lost support and start rolling back on some of their support of the Khitomer accords. They strengthen the relations with the Ferengi, who help to refinance and rebuild their infrastructure.

- The decline in the Romulan Star Empire that had set in after the Reman revolution continues. Reports of the Romulan homeworld being threatened by a supernova only exacerbate political unrest.

- Starfleet reallocates resources to the Romulan border, Obsidian Fleet receives additional ships under the mandate of peaceful support and to secure the area of the Romulan Neutral Zone.

- Initial resettlement efforts are set underway by Starfleet. There is considerable political pressure to rescind the support efforts, especially in the wake of two devastating conflicts over the course of the past decade (The Dominion War and the Borg Invasion).

- 14 worlds threaten to secede from the Federation over the

- The Romulan Neutral Zone is dismantled, making it possible to resettle displaced Romulans on planets hitherto uncolonised.

- The Republic of Bajor reapplies for membership with the United Federation of Planets.

- Elim Garak enters the office of Castellan on Cardassia. There are renewed efforts to tighten relations with the Khitomer Accords signatories. Cardassia also begins courting the Typhon Pact, looking to become a more neutral party in the Alpha and Beta quadrants.

- Construction starts on the Vesta-class, a prototype testbed built to incorporate a Quantum Slipstream Drive (QSD). The basic frame survived the raid at Utopia due to being in one of the upper space docks, and was transferred to San Francisco Yards for completion after being recovered. Most of the project staff survive thanks to being decentralized at various research outposts in the Sol System.

- Efforts by Starfleet to aid in the evacuation of the Romulus home system are abandoned.

- The first vessel of the Vesta-class launches after a 2-year construction cycle, the initial vessel is named the USS Vesta.

- Klingons take advantage of the unrest in Romulan territory and several incursions are reported. The Federation attempts to intervene in the conflict. In retaliation, the Klingons put the Khitomer accords on hold. They do not, however, officially leave the accords.

The Gorn retaliate against the Klingons in an attempt to halt the Klingon advance. Other members of the Typhon pact stand by their Romulan allies politically but don’t take military action against the Klingon Empire.

- Following their support, a temporary alliance is formed between the Romulans and Gorn, splitting the Klingon Defence Forces among two fronts.

- The Federation attempts to keep the peace by patrolling the front lines. Small skirmishes are reported between Klingon and Federation assets. Whilst the Federation does not see it as a sign of war, they do announce some political repercussions, slowing and cooling relations with the Empire.

- Obsidian Fleet receives significant reinforcements, however Task Force 72 assets are reassigned to the Typhon Pact region of space to help strengthen the border. Admirals voice their concerns with stretched assets.

- Bajor completes their bid for Federation membership.

- After a period of relative peace within their own borders, a rebuilding of Starfleet in earnest starts. The focus of which is to strengthen the internal defense. Starfleet is still not back at pre-Borg invasion levels of military strength and the UFP gravitates more and more towards isolationist policies.

- The Vesta QSD project is declared a success. Plans for the roll-out of the QSD within Starfleet, with some classes being able to be retrofitted.

- Following the disappearance of the USS Vesta, the retrofit project is put on hold, new Vesta class vessels that had finished construction are commanded not to use the QSD.

2395 -

- After the Vesta’s reappearance and a subsequent thorough investigation about the circumstances of its disappearance, the QSD project is once again implemented. Classes designated for retrofitting are the Sovereign, Intrepid, Luna, Prometheus, and Odyssey Class.

- In addition, the Tzkenthi begin operating outside their borders and closer to Federation space. Ongoing skirmishes are reported on these fronts.
