Captain Penelope Phoenix Lalor

Brief Interview with Selena Harris, on board reporter

SH: So, what does your job entail on the USS Elysium?

PL: As the Commanding Officer, I am ultimate responsible for the safety and well being of his ship and crew and to ensure that the ship's current mission is being satisfactorily executed. I am also responsible for meting out punishment for crew members found guilty of breaking major regulations. The Commanding Officer is also traditionally the member of the crew who performs such duties as marrying crew members under their command and serving as the host at all official functions held aboard their ship.

SH:How do you unwind after a tough duty shift?

PL: I like to go horse back riding on the holodeck, or chill in my cabin with my sister. *Pause* as I am on Call, I cannot get too far from the nearest turbolift, so I am never fully relaxed.

SH:Have you any pointers for those who want to do what you do?

PL: Uh.. work hard, do not be scared to voice your thoughts and ideas to your commanding officer... do not however verbally abuse admirals.. it doesn't end well.

SH:Do you have any funny stories about your time on the Elysium?

PL: Does threatening to hog tie the Admiral count? No? Uh... hmmm its hard to find one that won't embarrass the others in the story too much. I have a few but they are not for public consumption.

SH:What about hobbies? Any strange hobbies?

PL: Hobbies? Oh I don't really have any strange hobbies, I have recently gotten into reading novels from the late 1990's to early and mid 2000's on Earth. They are a fascinating insight to the Early Earth Culture.
