SECURITY ACCESS CODES

Access to Starfleet computer systems is highly regulated. Standard authorisation protocols are programmed into a vessel's computer cores to prevent unauthorised access to ship systems, command functions and restricted information.
An individual's access is determined by rank, position, duty requirements and the authority granted by the vessel's Commanding Officer.
SHIP SYSTEM ACCESS LEVELS
ALPHA-TWO
Unlimited access to all ship records, systems, command functions
and computer systems.
ALPHA-ONE
Unlimited access to all ship records, systems and computers.
No access to ship-localised command functions.
BETA-TWO
Unlimited access to all ship records, systems and computers.
Limited access to command functions except where otherwise
authorised by the Commanding Officer.
BETA-ONE
Unlimited access to ship records and computer systems.
Command access is limited, and access to ship systems is restricted
to functions relevant to the officer's assigned duties unless
otherwise authorised by the Commanding Officer.
DELTA-TWO
Limited access to ship records, systems, command functions and
computer systems. Access is restricted to duty-related requirements.
DELTA-ONE
Limited access to ship records and computers.
Access is restricted to job-related functions.
STANDARD ACCESS BY POSITION
Different officers aboard a Starfleet vessel receive varying levels of security access depending upon their authority, responsibilities and assigned duties.
The following assignments represent standard access levels. Final authority over an individual officer's access remains with the Commanding Officer.

Command Authority:
The Commanding Officer may grant limited or temporary access to any otherwise restricted section, system or database where a crew member's duties require such access.

DATA ACCESS LEVELS
Access to Starfleet and Federation data is tightly controlled.
Classification access determines which confidential, classified,
secret and highly restricted records an individual may review.
LEVEL 5
Unlimited access to classified, secret, top-secret and ultra-secret
Starfleet or Federation documents and records.
LEVEL 4
Limited access to classified, secret and top-secret Starfleet or
Federation documents and records. Access is restricted on a
need-to-know basis.
LEVEL 3
Limited access to classified and secret Starfleet or Federation
documents and records on a need-to-know basis.
LEVEL 2
Limited access to Starfleet or Federation documents and records
relevant to operational duties and authorised requirements.
LEVEL 1
Limited access to Starfleet or Federation documents and records
required for an individual's job or assigned duties.
STANDARD DATA CLEARANCE BY RANK

OTHER STARFLEET SECURITY CODES & PROTOCOLS
ALPHA FOUR SEVEN AUTHORISATION
Security code required to access secured Starfleet subspace channels.
The code was used aboard the USS Enterprise-D on Stardate 47653.
BLUE ALERT
A state of readiness used aboard Federation starships capable of
planetary landing operations. Blue Alert directs the crew to occupy
Code Blue stations before descent, landing or lift-off.
Descent should not begin until all required sections report that
Condition Blue has been established.
CODE 1
Starfleet designation for a declaration of war.
In 2267, the USS Enterprise received a Code 1 message from Starfleet
Command advising that the Federation was at war with the Klingon Empire.
CODE 1 EMERGENCY
Federation emergency signal indicating a total disaster requiring
immediate response. It may also be designated a
Priority 1 call.
CODE 2
Starfleet encryption protocol.
CODE 47
Designation for a Starfleet subspace communiqué of exceptionally
high sensitivity or secrecy.
CODE 710
Interstellar code prohibiting a spacecraft from approaching a planet.
CODE FACTOR 1
Starfleet code indicating invasion status.
CODE ONE ALPHA ZERO
Signal indicating the discovery of a space vehicle in distress.
CODED TRANSPONDER FREQUENCY
A designated subspace frequency and code used to activate a
starship's transponder and return its identifying information,
allowing allied vessels and authorities to accurately identify
and track the ship.
CONDITION GREEN
Covert Starfleet code used to indicate over an otherwise clear
communication channel that the speaker is being held captive or
is communicating under duress.
FRACTAL ENCRYPTION
Highly sophisticated computer encryption designed to make
unauthorised decryption extremely difficult.
LEVEL 1 PERSONNEL SWEEP
Scan protocol used to locate personnel within a specified section
of a station or starship.
PHASE 1 SEARCH
Standard Starfleet procedure for a detailed shipboard search for
an individual believed to be injured or otherwise unable to respond.
PREFIX CODE
A security passcode associated with a Federation starship's computer
systems and used to prevent unauthorised activation or control of
critical vessel functions.
RED ALERT
State of maximum crew and systems readiness aboard Federation
starships and other vessels.
TRANSPORTER CODE 14
Command directing an object to be dematerialised and then
rematerialised in a dissociated condition, effectively destroying it.
USER CODE CLEARANCE
Personal security code required to access designated starship
control systems.
YELLOW ALERT
State of significantly increased crew and systems readiness aboard
Federation starships and other vessels.
