Important Crew Update

Crew of the USS Elysium
This email is hard to write as I have always sworn to be open about the choices, and such made by the command team.
I have always said, my door is always open, and yes while I am in a different time zone to most of you, I always try to reply to Messages within a certain amount of time.
To be accused of not doing something about a player concern is heartbreaking to me. Not being given a chance to do something because I had the misfortune to be asleep is even worse.
Homophobia IS NOT ACCEPTED. Nor is bashing someone because they disagree with your point of view.
We all have different life views, and Elysium is, supposed to be a safe environment for all players. I have prided myself on this, by keeping such things from the game.
Players are allowed and encouraged to play different races, genders and yes different relationship types. I personally do not care if your male PC has a Male and female lover! Nor if your Female PC is with another female! I DO NOT CARE! I have my own beliefs and I do not push them on people, and I expect the same from all players.
That said, I am unable to fix what I do not know is broken or not working right, thus we all have the responsibility to speak up.
Today after re-reading the events that happened in our discord channel, and after discussions with the senior staff and command team, we have chosen the following:
1. We accept the resignation of Notty, player of Miraj Derani with a heavy heart and understand that the player feels that this is the best for them currently. They are welcome back at any time.
2. Have commenced the removal of the player of Warrant Officer Rhen Tal, this removal is not something we take lightly, and we have discussed it for many hours but what it boils down to is this:
a. The player has been warned about their expressing of views in a manner which is offensive to other players
b. There have been several complaints over the past few months about this players behaviour both on discord and in game
c. Several players have come forth since the events in discord and expressed their concerns and prior instances where the player has put forth his views.
USS Elysium is meant to be a welcome place for everyone regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation. We simply ask that you be respectful and kind and do not abuse one another. Not so hard.
Regards
Captain Phoenix Lalor

I got to be honest and say, this is the first I've heard of this problem. I don't know what to say, as the writer who's leaving is very active and will be missed by many people. As for the removed player, I think he was a situation waiting to arrive. Just a shame it cost us a good writer to find out, but Jill you can only be as good as humanly possible. Your not a miracle worker, and despite our past problems I fully support your actions in this case.
