Being off duty was interesting for Phoenix. She rarely got time these days to roam the ship. She had often done so as CHOPS. So when the opportunity arrived, she grasped it with both hands and high tailed it out of her office and down to below decks.

She found herself wandering into Engineering. She did not announce herself just wandered over to Matias's office and looked in through the open door. "Hey Matias" she said softly.

Matias looked up from his console. "What can I do for you, my alpha?" he said.

She smiled. "I was just dropping by to see how you have been. Its been very busy. "

"It's been the same for me," he said. He got up and got her a chair. "I'm glad to see you, Would you like to sit down?"

The Erisian smiled at the Wolf and took the offered chair. "Thank you Matias. So how is your department going?"

"It is doing very good. I caught an imbalance in the warp core, but fixed it quickly."

"Thats good. I'd hate to have to explain that the ship exploded to the admirals." She smiled. "And your team?"

"I have no complaints about them, they are well-trained," said Matias. "And they are willing, using a human metaphor, to think outside of the box."

"Thats good to know." Phoenix replied nodding. "And have all your equipment requisitions been filled by the Station?"

"It sure has, my alpha," said Matias. "I've been very busy updating all the systems, but it has made me neglect making many friends here. It's been somewhat lonely after leaving my home galaxy."

"Work always gets in the way. We all need to learn to balance it. Believe me, I struggle with it as well."

"It's something I have to work at," said Matias. "I have a relationship with Liselle, but it seems to be one way."

Phoenix frowned a bit at that. "Maybe, you should take her on a date. Book the holodeck and take her to dinner?"

"That sounds like a good idea. I hope she accepts," said Matias. "I'm having sessions with the Counselor as I am having problems with relationships with others, both female and male."

Tilting her head to the side Phoenix frowned slightly."Nothing too serious I hope Matias. And I hope it is not something that causes you to feel discomfort on this ship."

"No, not at all," said Matias. "It is difficult adjusting, as on my homeworld, we are more open about those things than people are here."

Phoenix nodded. "Oh I see. Well, if you need help adjusting, I do hope you take advantage of the counselor on board. She has helped me a lot over the years."

Matias brightened up. "You're right," he said. "I'll see her right after I leave you."

Phoenix smiled. "Then I shall leave you to it." She stood. "Have a good day Matias"
