Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Personal Quarters
810 words - 1.6 OF Standard Post Measure

Olivia was getting ready for her duty shift when she her computer beep with a couple of messages that had just come in for her. Pulling on her uniform jacket, Olivia walked over to the computer on her desk to see who the messages were from. One of the messages was from her parents and the other one was from her brother Marcus. She was surprised that she heard from him so soon considering his duty posting at the moment. Each of her brothers always seemed to take their time in responding to her letters at times due to their duties, so it was a bit of a shock in a way that she had gotten a response as quickly as she had from Marcus.

Sitting down at her desk, Olivia opened up the message from Marcus to see what he had to say in this message to her. Her brother Marcus was the one to always look out for her the most at times, since she was always pestering him more when they were younger with one thing or another. She would also pester Jonathan and Adam at the same time but in different ways from what she would to Marcus. Each of her brothers would always pester her back in return as well, but they always made sure to look out for her at the same time in their own way when their parents were not able to do so themselves.

Message from Marcus:

Little Shrimp,

As usual, you keep me guessing on a few things at times. No matter what, you will still be my little sister and I will do what is needed to keep you safe no matter how far apart we are at times. You have always been a challenge at times for me and I have been one for you at times as well when we were younger.

I know that my responding to your letter so soon instead of making you wait like I normally do is a drastic change in routine for me, but I felt that I should respond now rather than making you wait like I normally do and have you worry for no reason at all, little shrimp. As you know, some of the missions I go on I’m not able to talk about for one reason or another. I’m about to head out on one sometime soon, I just don’t know exactly when just yet. I will be in touch with you as soon as I am able to do so after the mission that I will be going on in the near future. Just make sure that you stay out of trouble and if you are needing any kind of help, then make sure that you get in touch with either Jonathan or Adam. Little Shrimp, you know from experience over the years, that we have always looked out for one another and always will do so for years to come no matter what happens or how far apart we end up being at times. Family is always the most important thing to keep in mind.

I’ve already been in touch with both Jonathan and Adam to see if they are able to find out anything in regards to Casper and his sudden departure and disappearance on you without a word. I always thought he would be the right one for you after getting to know him some over the years. I just don’t understand what happened this time around for him leaving so suddenly and not saying a word to you at all. I know that duties suddenly pull each of us in different directions at times, but he still should of gotten in touch with you some how by now to let you know that he was alright at least. Once I know something I will let you know.

I had better go now myself so that I can get to working on a few things before getting to busy with one thing or another during my duty shift. Make sure to stay in touch and remember that I love you, little shrimp.

Love always, Marcus

Olivia smiled as she read through the letter from Marcus. He was always cryptic at times with his messages at times, but that was the nature of his job at times. She knew that at some point he would open up a bit more on a few things to her but knew that it would have to wait until they got to see each other in person instead of through subspace messages to each other.

Olivia saved the message so that she would be able to respond to it when she got off duty and then got up from her desk and headed out of her quarters to report for duty in Sickbay.
