It was a small thing, two young children aged 4 with runny noses. Medical staff from the USS Elysium working with local doctors quickly gave medication to get them feeling better. But 16 hours after the arrival of the Elysium, and 10 after the camp was set up, 2 children having colds had changed to 15 people with runny noses and 5 with high grade fevers. And the likely hood of this spreading was increasing.

Normal medication was not helping the patients and it was not just the colonists who were getting sick, 4 security officers and three from operations were also sick. Medical was about to be overwhelmed by sick as well as wounded.
