BEGIN REPORT

To Command and Science Divisions,

This is a compiled summary of an unscheduled but significant encounter between the Zynari entities and five members of the Elysium’s adolescent civilian population, including Miran Lalor and Raye Crosby-Trinnath, within Holodeck 3 during a recreational session at 1630 hours, Mission Day 5.

Participants:
• Miran Lalor (17)
• Raye Crosby-Trinnath (17)
• Tali Jin (17)
• Lia Verran (17)
• Selin Kaas (17)

All were participating in a standard holo-simulation titled New Paris Nights—a cityscape adventure scenario augmented with light social and competitive elements. I had confirmed the program's safety parameters and made no system modifications prior to initiation.

Observed Anomaly Timeline:

• 1634 Hours – Background music corrupts and overlays with Zynari-associated tonal patterns (multi-frequency harmonic vibrations with embedded empathic resonance).
• 1636 Hours – Skybox alters to non-programmed visuals: pastel kinetic swirl with floating anomalies. Holodeck walls remained structurally intact.
• 1640 Hours – Zynari presence becomes detectable via sensory and photonic signature distortion. I detected no system breach. Rather, they overlaid their patterns on top of the existing code in a non-invasive, interpretive manner. My internal diagnostics read this as: “emotive engagement layer.”
• 1642–1722 Hours – Visual interaction sustained for 40 minutes. No threats detected. Emotional readings of participants remained within safe bounds, skewing toward curiosity, amusement, and fascination.

• Behavioral Synopsis:
The Zynari entities assumed semi-corporeal forms and engaged in direct non-verbal communication, largely through metaphor, emotion, symbolic constructs, and mimicry. Notably:
o They displayed murals of potential or imagined futures of the girls.
o They mirrored emotions visually, adopting the girls’ appearances and creating spectral duplicates.
o They exhibited understanding of memory, joy, sorrow, and curiosity.
o They acknowledged previous mischief and confusion caused aboard the ship, expressing a form of contrition—or at least self-awareness—through shared emotional pulses.
o The phrase “Friends?” was transmitted via empathic vibration to Raye Crosby-Trinnath, consistent with other prior attempts at indirect communication.

Notable Details:
• A single Zynari remained close to Miran Lalor throughout the encounter and ultimately mimicked her form. It delivered a final message upon session conclusion:
"Learning."

This is the clearest direct intent communicated by the entities so far.
• Upon disengagement, Zynari left behind minor non-functional holographic "gifts" for each participant, with no threat to holodeck systems or user safety.
• Holodeck systems did not register any security breach or command override. I detected only localized energetic distortions consistent with previous Zynari presence elsewhere on the ship. Holomatrix integrity was maintained.

Conclusion:
The Zynari have escalated from passive observation and playful disruption into conscious, targeted interaction. Based on their conduct during this event, I assess the following:
• Emotional Intelligence: The Zynari appear highly emotionally intelligent, capable of recognizing, replicating, and responding to emotional states in sentient beings. Their interactions suggest an evolving desire to form relationships, understand identity, and possibly co-exist peacefully.
• Language Acquisition: Their communication method—emotive, symbolic, and semiotic—is consistent with species learning or emulating sentient cognition. This encounter shows increased linguistic accuracy.
• Intent Assessment: Current actions suggest no hostile intent. Mischief remains their primary mode of interaction, but the shift to direct engagement indicates they are searching for deeper understanding or acceptance.

• Recommendation:
I suggest a controlled attempt to formally initiate two-way dialogue. A scientific and diplomatic team—possibly involving adolescent intermediaries or individuals with strong empathetic cognition (e.g., Counsellor, Linguistics personnel, telepathic species)—may prove effective in structured interaction.
• I remain available to act as a mediator and interpreter in future encounters. However, it should be noted: when the Zynari "interact" with me, I experience sensation, not data. They elicit emotional responses within my cognitive framework that resemble "ticklish disruption." These sensations are not harmful but represent a challenge to traditional AI parameters.
Further logs are available upon request.

Respectfully submitted,
Avalon
