Desek listened to a favorite piece of his of Cardassian Opera. He was surprised to find such an extensive collection on a Starfleet vessel. He hummed along to the melodic tune as he sharpened a piece of wood using the edge of a kitchen panel that he had removed that belonged to a storage compartment. It hadn't been easy but lately he wondered what occured on the ship. There was the flickering of the lights in his quarters, then the locking and unlocking of his door. There was also a shift in Security. He hadn't seen the Sequus in a long while, added to the fact there was a shift in the Security officers assigned to guard his room. It was a shift in body language and overheard conversations, he deduced that the Sequus was no longer in charge. This was to his advantage because however annoying that damned Sequus was, he wasn't a fool. The guards were more on edge as well, noticing signs of exhaustion and jumping at the odd noise.

He set the paneling down and studied the sharpened wooden stake he had made. It would suffice for a single kill and allow him to grab a phaser. He was determined not to sit here and rot away on a Federation ship...especially after he had offered his help, only to be rejected. Had the Sequus even informed the captain of what he knew? At the moment, he didn't care. His wife was dead. The Cardassian Union he had known was gone, replaced by puppets for the Federation. He had spent hours going over historical records regarding the Dominion War and fall of Cardassia.

He stood, placing the stake into a pocket before grabbing the paneling and replacing it back in the kitchen. Again the lights flickered. Now wasnhis time. Being a late shift, most of the crew were asleep. "Computer, play Klingon Opera, maximum volume. " The computer chirped it's acknowledgment. A moment later, the booming voice of a male Klingon Opera singer emitted in the quarters. The sound so loud it caused several dishes to vibrate as Desek gritted his teeth, making his way to the door and pounded on it. "Hey, officer! Stop this inferno racket!"

The door opened as the human male security officer entered, immediately pressing his hand to his ears. "Computer..." The officer's voice was cut short, replaced by a gurgling sound as Desek had stabbed the wooden. Stake into the neck of the officer, piercing the jugular in the process. The officer collapsed to the floor, letting out a final gurgle of air as a pool of blood quickly formed. He grabbed the phaser, out of the officer's holster, checking the setting and power levels before switching the weapon from stun to kill. "Federation fools with their rules on stunning," he criticized with a shake of his head. "Computer! Stop music!" The computer thankfully acknowledged as the music stopped. He looked at the body of the quickly dying officer. "See? Klingon Opera will just get you killed." He then made his way down the corridor and hopefully to a shuttle bay.
