Dressed in her standard duty uniform, Naxea let out a sigh of relief as she exited the grounds of Starfleet HQ. She had to submit an updated gear and weapons request, which she had felt would best be done in person--and she was correct. General Yamamoto had agreed with her that the Elysium's Marine Detachment should be better equipped than it had been previously.

She spotted some nearby bars and restaurants and decided to head over to them to which one's caught her fancy. As she neared one called 'The Lower Deck,' she heard a muffled commotion from behind the bar. Curious, she made her way around the corner. 'Likely some cadets fighting over a girl or guy,' she thought. As she came around the corner, she saw three men beating on another man. Three against one? Cowards! Not missing a beat, Naxea broke into a full sprint and intercepted a man's fist who was unaware of her, pulled him into an arm bar and pulled hard with a twisting motion until an audible crack could be heard as the guy screamed in agony at his broken arm.

"You bitch!" he screamed

"This isn't your fight, jarhead!" another, larger man shouted as he rushed at Naxea.

"Now it is," she said as she ducked the punch, using momentum to toss the man just as the other guy delivered a punch to her side.

"Ooomph," Naxea reflexed as she turned to the third guy. "That tickled," she said as the guy threw another punch, this one, deflected the punch with her lft arm and drove her right palm into his solar plexus, causing the guy to drop to ground in pain. She immediately turned to larger guy she had just thrown. "Still wanna dance?" she asked, grinning, hoping the answer would be yes.

"N--No. That damn spoon head isn't worth it," he said, breathing hard as he moved to help the guy with the broken arm up.

'Spoon head?' she thought as she knelt down to move the man's face to her. The bloodied Cardassian face she saw looking back at her, caused anger to flush throughout her body. "Dajeem?" Without another sound she stood and grabbed the larger man's head, slamming it into the side of the building, leaving a splattering of blood on the wall as the man fell to ground, dropping the guy her was helping up as his hand went to his face to cover the bloody gash he now had.

"That spoon head is my brother!" she screamed at him in rage.

At that moment, three Starfleet Security Officers rounded the corner. "What happened here?" one of them asked.

"Good, you can arrest these three assholes for attacking this man here. My brother," Naxea explained.

"Sir," one of the officers approached while the other two drew their type-2 phasers. He then knelt down next to Dajeem. "Sir, did these men attack you?"

Dajeem nodded and wiped the blood from his mouth. "Y-yes. The jumped me, drug me here and started beating on me. My s-sister here, probably saved my life."

The officer nodded and stood. "May I have your name, Captain?" he asked Naxea.

"I'm Captain Azhul Naxea, USS Elysium Marine Detachment Commander," she introduced himself.

"Thank you, Captain. Are either of you in need of medical attention?"

Dajeem shook his head as he stood. "No thank you, officer. I will live."

"I'm good, which is more than I can say for these three assholes," Naxea commented.

The security officer nodded. "We've had trouble with these three before. They're former Starfleet. They lost a lot of friends in the Dominion War and are often drunk," he explained. "We'll take these three to district HQ for medical treatment and to hold them until their trial."

"Thank you," Naxea said as she watched the three officers escort the three attackers away. She then turned to Dajeem. "What the hell are you doing here, Dajeem? How come you're not back on New France?"

"I've always wanted to visit Earth and well, I knew the Elysium was docked at Earth and I wanted to visit you. Plus, I'm interviewing for a position at Starfleet Academy as an assistant professor," Dajeem explained.

"Dajeem, we've never gotten along. Hell, I can barely stand you," Naxea said throwing her hands into the air and turning away.

"Then why did you fight those men and save me?" Dajeem asked.

"Because whether I like it or not, you're still my family!" Naxea snapped, turning back towards Dajeem. "Despite the fact that every time I look at you, I can't help but to think of the pain, suffering, and violation mom had to endure. Every time I look at you, I'm reminded of living on Bajor, scraping by to survive!"

Dajeem was silent for a moment. "Naxea...I'm sorry that being with me reminds you of those things, but none of that is my fault. Your mom is my mom, and you have no idea how hard I have to work just because of my heritage. When people look at me, they don't see the Bajoran nose ridges. All they see are my Cardassian features and judge me on those alone. You and mom is all that I really have in this galaxy."

Naxea sighed and shook her head. "Dajeem...come on, let's get you cleaned up. Where are you staying?"

"Actually I could use a drink if that's ok with you?" Dajeem asked.

"Sure...let's go," Naxea gestured, as Dajeem began to walk next to her. "And if you order Kanar, I'm shoving it up your ass."

"Don't worry, never liked that stuff. Besides, a bottle of that stuff wouldn't fit up my small ass," Dajeem replied that caused Naxea to laugh.
