Academy, Engineering Deck:

Milla and Rhonda Harlin, her tablemate in microengineering, had been doing their impromptu practical exam in basic equipment maintenance, repairing a medical tricorder trashed by the Jem-Ha'dar during their brief occupation of Elysium, when the ship suddenly went into warp who the hell knows what en route to who the hell knows where, "Okay, so what was that?" Milla asked, turning to Rhonda.

"I don't know..." Rhonda replied nervously, whatever it was it had scared the crap out of her, "I'm going to go find out, stay here."

"Right." Milla nodded, fighting not to roll her eyes at Rhonda's overprotectiveness, ~The frustrated wannabe girlfriend strikes again.~ The young brunette from Luna Colony had a serious crush on Milla and didn't make any efforts to hide it, it was kind of cute and kind of pathetic.

[Twenty Minutes Later]

Rhonda walked back into microengineering and pulled Milla to the side, "I got something to tell you, you're not going to like it."

As Milla listened, Rhonda explained, telling her the story of the Q, the flash, and her sister. Milla's eyes grew wide and she exclaimed, "SHE DID WHAT???" and turned and ran out of the Academy, headed to Marine Country.

[Ten Minutes Later]

Milla entered the Marine HQ, finding Gunny Rhodes sitting behind his desk, "Tim, I need your help!" She said desperately.

"What was that, Cadet?" Rhodes replied, reminding her that she was supposed to address him with military propriety now that she was officially a cadet.

"Sorry, Gunnery Sergeant." She replied, then went straight back to, "I really need your help..."

"What is it?" He groaned, Milla was a drama queen of the highest order.

Milla explained the situation as she had been informed of it, then asking, "So what are we going to do?"

"Is minding your own business not an option?" Rhodes sighed, those damn Bretts were a huge pain in his ass sometimes.

"No, she's getting involved with a Q!" Milla said frantically, "This is way worse than the undercover twin...."

"And you saw this?" Rhodes asked, "You know this is true and not just ignorant scuttlebutt?"

"What's ignorant scuttlebutt?" Naxea asked tiredly as she walked into the office, still carrying her phaser rifle.

"Captain, allow me to introduce you to a long term pain in my ass, Milla Brett." Rhodes laughed, "Cadet Brett here thinks her sister is trying to get it on with a Q or some similarly silly shit."

"Come on, Ti... Gunny, if anyone would." Milla moaned, this was so bad and nobody seemed to get that.

"Brett...Brett...wait, are you Legate Brett's sister?" Naxea asked, setting her rifle down against Rhodes' desk.

"Yes. You know her?" Milla asked, maybe this woman with the fabulous hair and that adorable nose could help.

"Well, all I know is she seemed to have a crush on a female Q I heard the captain refer to as Quinn," Naxea stated.

"Oh, ради трахает (for f*ck's sake)..." Milla cursed in Russian, "She must have a hard on for that name or something..."

"Damn crazy Russian bitches." Rhodes shook his head, pouring himself another mug full of dark black coffee.

Naxea shook her head. "Only you can drink that stuff, Gunny," she commented before looking back at Milla. "So, I see you don't agree with your sister's choice."

"Oh, you have no idea, sir." Milla rolled her eyes, "She hasn't made a good choice since the day she met Cheline Halliwell and this one's just the icing on the cake. A Q? I mean, what does she expect from that?"

"I have no idea but I just hope her infatuation doesn't end up endangering herself, the crew, or the ship," Naxea said, crossing her arms.

"Herself, maybe." Milla sighed, quickly adding, "But not anyone else. She'll never do anything to put anyone else at risk, I know my sister."

"As a rule Anje's the more level headed of them, even more so than the Ambassador." Rhodes stated as he took another drink of his coffee, thinking but not stating that Amb. Zhukov was a nut job amongst nut jobs, "This might not be as bad as it seems on the surface, ladies."

"Guess it doesn't help that I got under her skin when I called her out on it," Naxea mused with a grin.

"How did you call her out exactly?" Milla asked, she wasn't about to let anyone disrespect her sister, no matter what she was doing.

"I called her out about her near blind trust of a childish, omnipotent being, cadet, Naxea replied sternly. "After she questioned my decision to ensure that she ship was secure."

"If this thing is truly omnipotent..." Milla began, she didn't believe that the Q were omnipotent any more than she believe they were gods, "then there's really no way to secure anything from them, right?" She shook her head, "I don't buy that omnipotent story anyway, nothing is omnipotent. Nothing."

"Ridiculous story anyway." Rhodes agreed, he'd heard too many species declared either omnipotent, invulnerable, or insurmountable only to be pushed aside in the end to believe any of them actually were, "Just because nobody's crushed the Q yet doesn't mean they won't soon enough."

"Anyway, it doesn't look like we're going to be able to help each other much." Milla sighed, "Guess I'm on my own then." With that she turned to leave, wracking her brain to figure out what to do with her sister.
