Brief Interview with Ms Elisha Pryce-Randal - onboard Ship Reporter

EPR: What is your role on the Elysium? And what does it entail?

AN: I'm the commander of the Elysium's Marine Detachment. I make sure the Marines under my command are ready to deploy to any situation that we encounter when the ship's captain needs us.


EPR: What made you choose that line of work?

AN: I wanted to protect the people of the Federation since they saved me and my mother from Cardassian Occupation and I enjoy challenging myself. So, I signed onto the best--the Starfleet Marine Corps.


EPR: How do you handle the pressure that comes with being a Starfleet Marine officer?

AN: It's definitely a lot of pressure but it's a pressure I enjoy most days. I suppose I handle it by taking it one problem at a time--not all at once.


EPR: What would you say to a cadet aspiring to do what you do?

AN: Learn all you can and listen to the NCOs--you will learn more from them then you ever will from a classroom.

EPR: What is your favorite memory of your time at the academy?

AN: Other than graduation? (chuckling) Probably making the Academy's Paresis Squares Team.

EPR: Do you have any funny tales to tell about your time on the USS Elysium?

AN: One time PFC Durak from my unit nearly got knocked out during a drill. He was grabbing his gear and double timing it to the staging area when one of the doors malfunctioned and didn't open. He ran full speed into the door, knocking him on his rear and it took him awhile to recover.
