The air of the market was thick with the scents of exotic spices and abuzz with the general Murmurs of Locals conducting business. This far from the space port the Rarely played host to Tourists and visiting Personal, Which made it Ideal for an officer who was looking to avoid spending time with her crewmates. Nevada was one such officer. While she had nothing against her fellow officers aboard the Elysium , she wasn’t Keen on Making best friends either. It would only take A tiny slip of words for her Personal Research to come to light if she was spending more time then was necessary with them.

So Here she was, On the far side of the planet Her Uniform a stark contrast to the dress of the Locals colorful garb, though they seemed to pay her little mind as she wandered through the clogged streets of the market place, her eyes wandering over the plants and Spices on display as she kept an eye out for what she was really after. A black market connection she’d heard of that had access to some equipment she sorely needed for her Research. Her eyes landed on a man who somewhat matched her contacts description and slowly meandered her way towards him. “Asphaltus?” she asked as she approached, using the code phrase she’d been given.

He looked at her contempt for a moment before he nodded slowly and gestured into a store. “You’re late,” he said gruffly.

“I wasn’t aware there as a Time table,” Nevada countered back as she folded her arms. “its not like what I’m after is a time sensitive piece of equipment.

“Look, I was just told to expect you an hour ago,” he grunted with a grunt. “The sellers inside, now move before we attract attention,” he said with a nervous glance around the Bazaar. “your Uniform isn’t exactly inconspicuous,” He added quietly.

“Well I don’t exactly have many choices of clothing on the ship,” she hissed as she stepped in the door, a wince crossing her face as she took a moment to let her eyes adjust to the dark of the interior. “I know it’s the black market, but You’re taking that a bit literally,” she muttered as she stepped forward.¬¬

“We’ve got light sensitive merch,” the man grunted as he followed after her, the door thunking shut behind him. “I’m sure a Client of your Reputation can understand that.”

“I guess,” Nevada muttered as she silently wished she’d grabbed a palm phaser from the armory before coming down.

“You’ll have to forgive my associate, he lacks the tact that You Starfleet officers are accustomed too,” A voice came from within, a Rail thin Orion steeping into the meager light. “Welcome Doctor McKay,” he said as he rubbed his hands together his brown eyes wandering over her frame. “If you’ll come right this way I’ll be…more then happy to show you the Item you’ve requested,” he said as he turned to wander deeper into the poorly lit Building.

“What condition is it in?” she asked as she moved glancing over her shoulder at the burly man who’d greeted her his face dower and grim.

“Its…in rough condition, objects like this are extremely difficult to find in any condition, let alone intact,” The thin man chuckled as he walked. “Not many Federation personal are after these types of objects, can I know your reasoning?”

“no,” Nevada said flatly. “And as long as its somewhat intact I’ll Pay you full price for it.”

“Your generosity know’s No bounds Doctor,” The Orion chuckled as he circled around a small table with a box on it. “Here you are then, please feel free to inspect the Merchandise.”

Nevada smiled and stepped closer to the box, her concerns put aside as she quickly flipped the lid of the box open. In an instant her smile turned into a scowl as she stared into the box. “What the fuck is this!” she demanded, lifting a Flower from with in the box. “Where’s the Item! “ she demanded as the man across from her just smiled.

“That would be you.” He said as something pressed to Her neck, a beep and hiss making her eyes go wide with fear, a beeping only audible to her letting her know a foreign chemical had just been injected into her blood.

“You fucking asshole!” she Growled, and leapt forward, catching the thin man off guard as her nanite infused blood fought hard against the sedative. Though it was a loosing battle, she managed to land a Heavy handed blow to his jaw before everything went black.
