Anya returned from her round trip of the ship's armouries, carrying a PADD with a current inventory report. "Lieutenant?" she called out, trying to get Felicity's attention. "Hi, we haven't met. I'm Anya Neeze." She swapped the PADD from her right to her left hand and held her right out to greet the officer.
Felicity shook the other woman's hand. "Pleasure to meet you Anya. Lieutenant Felicity Kaz. What can I do for you?" She asked, smiling.
"Well, for one thing, sign off on this report", Anya stared, handing over the PADD. "The hijackers took some of our weapons but neglected to secure the storage locker afterwards. Battle damage caused an explosion and we'll have to replace most small arms on deck 14. The rest checks out within established failure rates." That was the summary, the details were in the report proper.
"Let's have a look then." Felicity said, taking the report and gesturing for Anya to take a seat. "So can I get you anything to drink?" She asked, looking across at the replicator.
"Apple juice would be great", Anya said as she sat down. She wasn't going to say no to getting served by an officer. "Four crewmen are replicating new phaser rifles and making sure they're calibrated properly."
Felicity nodded, and walked over to the replicator, ordering an apple juice for the young woman, and a hot chocolate for herself. "So, seems as we haven't met, tell me a little bit about yourself Anya." She said, setting the drinks down on the desk, and smiling.
"Uhm, well", she started. "I don't know, I'm not really all that interesting. I like to fight, so I spend a lot of time with holodeck adventure programmes. They help me keep in shape, too, as I don't like the gym all that much." Repetitive exercises without anything to do for the brain weren't Anya's idea of fun. "Oh, and they call me Toasty Buns, after a recent combat injury."
Felicity nodded. "Sounds about the same as me. We take some holodeck time together. Could be fun." Felicity smiled again. "What program do you usually use?" She asked.
"My favourite puts the player in a medieval and fantasy type setting, lots of alien species but they're all fictional and have evolved on the same world", Anya said, her fascination with the setting evident. "It's a lived-in world that looks much older than the hundred-odd years it's been in development. You can play a warrior, or a mage, or a sneaky assassin, or anything in between. It's got no class system and you can basically be what you can do. And it's got quests, random encounters, scripted events, a good mix of all that."
Felicity nodded again. "I think I've tried that one. I found it was always better with two people though. Just tell me a time and we'll give it a try!" She smiled.
"How about tonight, after our shift?" Anya suggested. "I'll see about a holodeck reservation. I dare say two hours of this, and we'll both be exhausted, too."
