Character Background
| Personal History | Baeryn was born to Oliver & Tora Whavi in a small city in upstate New York on Earth. She was primarily raised by her father, her mother spent the majority of Baeryn’s life off world meeting with members of different houses of Betazed. Baeryns relationship with her mother was severely strained due to this. She felt that her mothers home-world and representation was more important then her. Refusing to leave her father behind she never left planet earth with her, afraid her mother would not return her. She spent her entire childhood trying to repress her empathic abilities. Feeling great shame for her Betazed side due to her mother’s neglect. Baeryns father died in a hunting accident when she was 16. Still refusing to leave earth and join her mother on Betazed she stayed with a friend of her fathers and cut all communication with her mother after her fathers passing. At 17 she became pregnant. Her joy was short lived after she experienced a miscarriage due to unknown circumstances. Lost and uncertain where her life was going Baeryn left New York and traveled to the west coast. While in California a recruitment media board caught her eye. What did she have left to lose? The next morning she took the entrance exam to join Starfleet. She received her Captains notice after saving the away team when undercover, the team was to find evidence leading to the arrest of a illegal weapons dealer. After being discovered the team was imprisoned by the cardassian warlord for three weeks. Baeryn was able to outsmart the cardassians and free the team with no casualties. Her act of bravery lead to her promotion to Lieutenant. |
