Personality & Traits

General Overview Miran fits the mold of the Mediator Personality - Mediator personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, Mediators have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the Mediator personality type – but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.

Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths
  • Seeks and Values Harmony – Miran does not like using position to throw her weight around and doesn’t much care for domineering attitudes at all. She prefers a more democratic approach, and works hard to ensure that every voice and perspective is heard. That said, she is not above using her rank if someone pushes her too hard.

  • Open-Minded and Flexible – A live-and-let-live attitude is key to Miran. Her sister worships different gods, that on their home world would ensure Phoenix a swift death, But Miran doesn't et it bother her, nor the fact that her sister has a well documented history of relationships with the same gender. Miran doesn't care who you love or sleep with. None of her concern.

  • Very Creative – Miran is a painter. She loves to paint things and often spends hours on a canvas. She even has a room, specifically for her art in the Captains Cabin.

  • Passionate and Energetic – When something captures Mirans imagination and speaks to her beliefs, Miran will go all in, dedicating their time, energy, thoughts and emotions to the project. Her shyness will keep her from claiming her due but she is often the first to lend a helping hand where it’s needed.

  • Take Things Personally – Growing up in the environment that she did, Miran tries to avoid conflict when and where possible. But she is not one to sit by and let it happen to her. She does however take criticism personally.

  • Difficult to Get to Know – Miran is very private and guards it very strictly. She has few friends, and likes it that way. She has to know someone a while before she lets them in.

  • Stubborn - Miran is very stubborn, like her sister, and it is hard to redirect her once her mind is made up.

    Character Background

    Personal History Born 2380 -25th Cermie (July by human Calendar) to Morian and Kiana Lalor, Miran is the youngest of 4 children. She has 1 older sister and two older brothers. When she was 3, her sister left home and joined Starfleet. It would be another 9 years before Miran was able to do the same. She ran away from home and snuck aboard a shuttle, bound for the USS Elysium, from the USS Tiger Claw. Her sister was very shocked to find her there. Miran had run away from home, like Phoenix had, and was seeking sanctuary. The shuttle stopped at Starbase 245 on its way to Phoenix's next posting, where Miran and Phoenix applied for Miran to gain asylum, and Phoenix took custody of her sister. With her sister now with her, Phoenix is very determined to make her life better. To make a home for her sister, and to make sure she gets an education worth more than the one they had as children.

    Since 2392, Miran has been on the Elyisum. 4 years has changed her. She has grown up, become more outgoing than the silent Erisian Child she had been on her home world.

    Phoenix has encouraged her artistic endeavors and made sure she has access to places and people to assist with that.

    Race Information:

    The Erisians are a patriarchal society. The planet is an M class and most of the inhabitants live in small city states similar to those of ancient Greece and Rome on Earth. But that is where the similarities of life end. Each City State is ruled by a king and all king answer to the High Lord, who rules in the capital of Erisa. The men rule this planet, and women are seen as nothing more then pawns in political games and useless unless bearing male children. This society is applying for federation membership. It gained warp capability in the federation year 2265. The issues the Federation have with the WOMEN not being treated equally is basically holding up full membership. The Erisians clothing is very old English, middle ages style, and their technology may have advanced to be near equal of some of the federation worlds, but they still hold true to the old ways of knights, swords and the like.
