| General Overview | With a warm smile that matches his personality, many were surprised when Damien chose to go into Security instead of becoming a Counsellor. When meeting new people, he's normally the first person to extend a friendly greeting, along with a handshake. He's always quick to defend his friends and those that are unable to defend themselves. Whilst on duty, he's a consummate professional, but once the workday is done, he knows how to relax. He is a big fan of theatre, and enjoys partaking in amateur theatre groups. Character Background
| Personal History | Damien was born in London, Earth. His mother was a Secondary school drama teacher whilst his father was the Chief Medical Officer on the U.S.S. Revelations. With their jobs keeping them in separate locations, Damien most often stayed on Earth with his mother, only seeing his father when between assignments or whenever the ship was docked at the San Francisco Fleet Yards. His childhood was mostly uneventful and it came as no surprise when at age 15 he announced his intention to attend Starfleet Academy. Whilst it may have come as no surprise, his mother was apprehensive about his joining, as everytime his father left, she never knew whether he would be returning home or not. But, after talking with both her husband and her son, she realised that nothing would stop him from joining, so too gave her blessing. Damien spent the next three years diligently studying and preparing himself for the entrance exam, determined to gain entrance on his first attempt. All of his hard work eventually paid off and at the age of 18, he gained admittance to the academy. Life at the Academy was exactly like his father had warned him. Thie classes were tough, and the physical regime was harder than anything he had ever gone through before. But he was determined to keep going. This was his ambition and he wasn't going to fail. At the end of his second year, when it came time to choose his path, it surprised nearly everyone when instead of going into Medical, like his father, or counselling, like his warm personality suggested, he instead chose to major in Security. His final two years passed without major excitement, and with his classwork all finished, his instructors decided it would be beneficial for him to get some hands-on experience and arranged for him, and a few others in the class, to extend their studies for another year and take a training cruise. He was assigned to the U.S.S. Vanguard, a small exploration vessel and spent the next year undertaking various missions, mainly on resupply runs and the occasional escort run. At the end of the year, with The cruise, and his studies finished, he finally graduated from the Academy, and was ready to go wherever he was needed. |
