| Physical Description | Long red hair, blue eyes, and very curvy...Kathleen looks all woman. But don't let that fool you. She spent part of her career as a Marine, flying Razors during the Dominion War. She is no pushover. She also looks nowhere near her age, as she can pass for being in her upper 20's. Additionally, from a visual perspective she indistinguishable from humans. It is only under medical examination that the physiological differences emerge between the two races. |

Personality & Traits
| General Overview | One word sums up Kathleen O'Shea...driven. She is generally very pleasant to be around, but she will not let anybody stand in her way of getting what she wants. She is very helpful to other crewmates who need assistance, and is tolerant of others mistakes...but she does expect them to be corrected. As for her race, the most identifiable trait of the Ka'Bu is they all have red hair, blue eyes, and very pale skin (almost porcelain-like and flawless). Ka'Bu live a very long life...many centuries in fact, but they do age gradually. They are very loving, and extremely sensual in nature. Fun and flirty. Playful in nature. Extremely Intelligent. Their moods are accompanied by temperature changes as well. Additionally their eyes change appearance (color clarity and vibrancy) with mood and energy manipulation (gifts). Additionally, they are very gifted in the arts of music and dance. Ka'Bu will usually find any excuse to be unclothed as well, as they prefer to be as close to nature as possible, and clothing restricts energy flow. So as you can guess, modesty is not really a concern for them. They will flirt...they will make casual passes and come on to people...and they will follow through if the object of their attention reciprocates. And gender does not play into this at all. |

| Strengths & Weaknesses | The good: Very strong engineering skills, specializing in propulsion, weapons and defensive systems. Excellent logistics and tactical decision making skills. The bad: Many would consider her to be too ambitious. She is very driven to succeed, and has stepped on a few people in the process. Kathleen tends to overstep her authority at times as well…calculated risks, which to date have played in her favor. Also, as weird as it sounds, she can be overly flirtatious and playful. The Ka'Bu are very playful creatures by habit, and it can be annoying at times, as well as a bit uncomfortable to some, especially those not used to it. Also, her ability to control her temperature is also automatically affected by her mood, which can be a serious issue at times. That is a matter of learning control, but she is young and does not have the luxury of having elders around to assist with her education and training. |

| Ambitions | Kathleen left Starfleet to live among the Ba'Ku, in hopes of finding out more about her species, and to learn from the elders to control herself at a much higher level than she was able to achieve on her own. But being stagnant in one place eventually grew old, so Kathleen decided to reach out to Starfleet for consideration for re-enlistment. When she left Starfleet, there were many who were upset with the decision, and a lot of bridges were burned with her departure. She knows that she has to work her way back into the circle of trust. For now, that is her main goal. | |

| Personal History | 2339 Born in Maghera, Ireland 2355 Graduated Secondary School at the age of 16 2355-2361 University of Alabama, School of Engineering..., Dual BE's in Mechanical and Structural Engineering, Minors in Math, Chemistry and Physics, Masters in Aerospace and Starship Engineering 2367 On board USS Liberator during shakedown cruise. Ship destroyed at Wolf 359. 2371-2373 Dominion War, deep space interdiction 2382-2384 Accepted into the MIT distance PhD program, Aerospace and Starship Engineering...completed in two years. *** 2387 Nanite infestation occurrence which awakened the Ka'bu DNA within Kathleen. The Ka'bu DNA ultimately became dominant, transforming Kathleen into a full-blood Ka'bu. Her mother is a Ka'bu that settled on Earth as a small group that tired of traveling.*** Kathleen grew up the child of and Engineer (Father) and a Physician (Mother). She stood above her classmates, and her family just knew that she would be a shining star. She proved them to be right, earning dual degrees in both her undergrad and graduate work...finishing at the top of her class in each. But her experience on the Liberator changed her for life, and took her down a path that alienated her from her family...a split which still exists to this date. Her parents are both strong believer in peaceful resolution of any conflicts, and to them...especially her father, she had turned into "Just another warmonger". It has been 10 years since she last visited her family, and that visit was only memorable for how badly it went. Her sister and brother-in-law have attempted to bring them close again as a family, but have not met with any success. |
