Character Background
| Personal History | Born into a prestigious family in New York, Alana was treated much like a princess her entire childhood. Her older brother Alijah was to inherit the family estate and business, the family oversaw the preservation of a cider mill in upstate New York, the largest in the north-eastern area. The early years of her life were filled with joy as she was dotted upon by both her parents. Spending very little time with her brother due to the age gap and his busy schedule of schooling. To this day they have a hard time finding any common ground to bond over. In her teens Alana was hit hard with a reality check, she was constantly picked on for her small size. At the age of 11 she reached her peek height. Being coddled by her parents turned into a huge learning curve for her. She began channeling her angry into physical fitness and activities. Taking a liking to Muay Thai she quickly became an expert, studying the art in Thailand for two years in her adolescence. After returning home from Thailand, Alana was unhappy with the life she led there. She wanted something more, she had a taste of exploration and was determined to seek it out. She was the first of her family to join Starfleet, her parents not pleased with her decision at all. They worried for her safety, if it had been up to them their "Princess" would have stayed home and assisted her brother with the cider mill. Her parents disapproval only fueled her determination. She made great strides at Starfleet academy, enjoying every minute of her studies along with her flourishing social life. A few bumps here and there regarding being underestimated and doubted, but she always came out on top. Upon graduation she was assigned to the U.S.S Elysium. |
