Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Generally has a quiet personality unless she sees someone being abused either verbally or physically. Unable to get on with men socially, becomes tongue tied and feels unworthy of their attention. Working situations however she is fine if not a little dominant. Can be overbearing when feels she should be protecting her Captain and crew and has gotten into trouble for this. Gets on better socially in the company of women and has occasionally been known to play practical jokes. Does not sleep much and enjoys Klingon Opera and running when she cannot sleep. Does not enjoy eating and feels it is an overrated pastime. Has been in trouble with medical for not eating. |

Character Background
| Personal History | Etrara was born on Risa following an affair her mother had with a minor Klingon attaché J’recall Mok of the House of Duras. As soon as her mother told him she was pregnant he disappeared completely. 9 months after, Etrara was born. Her mother returned to Earth to live with her mother. As she grew her mother implanted in her daughter hatred for her Klingon heritage. She had a difficult childhood suffering bullying because of the way she looked. She left school and began to be taught at home where she excelled in all subjects. When she was 16 she found her mother dead, she had committed suicide. Etrara made a vow to find her father one day and make him pay for what he did to her mother. . Her grandmother continued to look after her. At the age of 17 she began to look towards Starfleet and spent many hours watching the cadets come and go in their smart uniforms. When she was 18 a male cadet asked her if she would like to see him. On their first date they went to the beach at night to look at the stars. There he raped and brutalised her abusing her verbally regarding her looks and her heritage. At the time she thought he would kill her and decided that it would never happen again. To this end she began to learn martial arts and honed her body in the gym. The rape increased her fear of men and poor self image which continues to this day. As she got older she realised she was also attracted to women and had a brief affair with a female Andorian cadet Irania Jader. Irania was unfortunately killed in an Academy piloting accident. At age 18 she applied for and was accepted to Starfleet Academy despite her grandmother’s pleas not to do so. Her Academy days were unremarkable but she showed great aptitude with weapons of all kinds, and piloting all craft she tried. Her physical fitness made it easy to beat most of her male and female counterparts and she came second in the Academy marathon. Astromentics however completely floored her and she failed heavily enough to be held back a year. She graduated the following year after extensive extra lessons 3rd in her class. |
