Character Background
| Personal History | Thomas is a turncoat or so it is believed by those who believe they have all the facts. But do they? What is known is Thomas had achieved the rank of commander and the position of chief tactical officer. His service record lists several notations for distinction by his commanding officers. There were never any signs of discontentment with the Federation or Starfleet. He was pulled from his current assignment of Chief Tactical Officer/ 2nd Officer aboard the USS Bombay by Admiral Highlaw and reassigned to Highlaw's staff. it was after this reassignment that things began to change. He had numerous private meetings with the Admiral. The subject of those meetings was classified but Thomas began to show 'annoyance' with Starfleet and talking up the Romulan Star Empire, Not loudly but enough to get noticed by Starfleet Intelligence with talks of a court martial. As time progressed so did Thomas's discontent with Starfleet. Talks of a court martial were now front and center with charges of sowing discontent against the Federation being listed along with disobedience and disrespect for the chain of command and sowing the seeds of a mutiny. He had a series of meeting with Admiral Highlaw, again the subject was classified and then one night he was gone, vanished, taking a shuttle. Days passed until it was learned he had defected to the Romulan Star Navy and had taken Starfleet's plan for the Typhon Expanse. Plans later found to contain outdated information. Court martial proceedings were put in motion and Thomas was charged in absentia with treason and aiding and abetting the enemy. However no formal court martial had ever taken place. Admiral Highlaw, was still supportive of Thomas and asked that no formal proceedings take place until "all the facts are known," Thomas gave the Romulans plans the Federation's plan involving the Typhon Expanse. In exchange he was given a XO's role on Mishka warbird.By the Romulan High Command Where he served as her right hand. Until her death. he had taken command but was later 'relieved' of command and placed in the warbird's brig in an apparant mutiny. He remained there until a temporary alliance between the Elysium and Romulan crews let to him being turned over to the Elysium and placed in their brig. OOC: The extent of Thomas's meetings and the subject matter was Thomas appearing to defect to the Romulans to gain information on their fleet strength and movements, political leanings as well as learning if the Romulans had any information on Kyle Cragen. (Thomas doesn't know that Highlaw is using him to keep taps on Cragen and his slavery ring.) |
