Personality & Traits

General Overview Compared to the other major clans, the Jorani were relatively small in number. What they lacked in numbers they made up in currency and cunning. Like their perpetual social opponent, the Jorani were politically and socially based in power more than militarily so. As they preferred the softer, gentler side of life, their style of dress shifted away from the light, formless and thin (Greek-Roman) styles of Vulcan. Not moving into the realm of leathers and heavier gear the 'barbaric' Zorek wore, they settled on silks and other finely produced goods (Asian styles). Stayed relatively near the capitol but scattered to the east. Notable adeptness with: Elementa (wind + earth + telepathic), Observation skills, Silent movements.

Calin is a typical Romulan. Both cold and Calculating as well as hot tempered and deeply passionate. She is not above using her feminine wiles to get information from people or to get what she wants. She has one obsession. She ADORES comfortable surroundings. And silks and other finely produced goods (Asian styles). She ALWAYS decorates her cabin in what can be termed as Eastern style with lots of reds and gold. She brought with her a number of romulan furnishingsand intends to decorate her cabin in a style that she chooses. She is a true child of the Jorani Clan from which her house stems.

Character Background

Personal History Born in 2363 on a sprawling Jorani estate nestled in the rolling emerald hills east of the capital on ch’Rihan, Calin Saeihr tr'Rhenn was the youngest of four children—and the only daughter—of Jeral and Danesa t’Rhenn, esteemed members of the influential Jorani Clan. Unlike the larger, militaristic clans such as the Zorek, the Jorani were aristocrats, power-brokers, and whisperers behind closed doors. They held influence not through brute strength, but through political strategy, vast wealth, and cultural prestige.

Her mother, Danesa (tr'Elenhh) t'Rhenn, was the sister of Llairr t’Elenhh, wife to Praetor Neral, which placed Calin firmly within the inner circle of Imperial high society. This familial connection ensured she grew up in the public eye—her education, personal relationships, and public appearances scrutinized and discussed among the Empire’s elite.

From an early age, Calin displayed not only an exceptional mind but also an innate grace and poise that marked her as both dangerous and desirable in courtly circles. Trained in the arts of Elementa—the Romulan philosophical and mystical tradition tied to wind, earth, and subtle telepathy—Calin inherited the Jorani traits of precision, quiet observation, and calculated silence. She was often the calmest person in the room, even as the political atmosphere around her crackled with tension.

Her decision at 16 to join the Galae and pursue medical training startled many within her family, who expected her to ascend through diplomatic channels or serve as a political consort.

But Calin had other ambitions. Healing, to her, was not merely a science—it was control. The medical field allowed her a direct, unfiltered view into Romulan lives, bodies, and weaknesses. And that, to her, was power worth mastering.

She trained at the Galae Academy’s Medical Annex, earning top honors and forming a reputation as a cool, exacting physician who preferred silence and results over praise and politics. Her career unfolded aboard some of the Empire’s most respected warbirds:

• GSN Devoras (2385–2387) – Her initial posting, where she gained firsthand experience with battlefield triage and deep-space ailments.
• GSN Terix (2387–2391) – Distinguished herself with her unshakeable calm during internal power struggles aboard the ship.
• GSN Talvath (2392–2395) – Promoted to Daise’Erein, she managed the entire medical bay, reshaping its procedures and chain of command.
• GSN Dividices (2395–2397) – As Arrain, she led advanced xenomedical research initiatives, focusing on adapting Romulan medicine to mixed-crewed engagements.
In 2397, she was selected for one of the most prestigious—and politically charged—positions: Chief Medical Officer aboard the GSN Havraha, a Valdore-class warbird under a trouble Riov people wanted watched. Her promotion to Daise'Arrain marked not only her clinical skill but also the careful alignment of her family with strategic interests in the region.

Her personal quarters are a rich haven of Eastern-inspired Romulan design—luxurious silks, lacquered wood, incense, and vibrant reds and golds. She believes deeply in the importance of beauty and serenity in her surroundings, maintaining a private sanctuary aboard the warbird that few are permitted to enter.

But behind the mask of poise and calculation, Calin harbors a secret—a clandestine relationship with Olmex Bandus Thikoho, the ship’s Marine Commander. Olmex, as enigmatic as she is precise, matches her in both intellect and passion. Their relationship, born of late-night conversations and quiet confidences exchanged after missions, has grown deep—dangerously so. Yet they keep it carefully hidden, aware that exposure could jeopardize not only their careers but the carefully balanced political and social dynamics aboard the Havraha.

To the crew, they are merely colleagues—occasionally seen exchanging clipped, professional reports. But behind closed doors, theirs is a bond of trust and vulnerability that Calin rarely allows herself to experience elsewhere. In a world where information is currency and emotions are liabilities, Olmex is her most closely guarded secret.

Now 35, Calin Saeihr tr’Rhenn is a force to be reckoned with—skilled, poised, and layered with secrets. In the sterile corridors of a Romulan warbird, her scalpel may heal, her eyes may charm, and her words may soothe—but behind it all is a mind always calculating, always adapting... and a heart quietly defying the world she was born into.
