| General Overview | Dianek is a young Romulan of precision and quiet intensity. Outwardly mild--almost forgettable--he fulfills his duties without protest, yet he harbours a deep, simmering resentment toward those who mock or dismiss him. Considered "soft-faced" by Romulan standards. Beneath the silent exterior lies a brutal mind--methodical, proud, with an unshakeable loyalty to a vision of Romulan greatness few in the Empire would dare to share. His father, Varel, is a cold, calculating political strategist for the Rihanhai-T'kahrak--or the 'True Flame'--an ultra-nationalist Romulan political faction. His power has diminished somewhat since the Dominion War but he still carries influence throughout the Empire. He believes Dianek to be a weak dilution of the bloodline and a disappointment for choosing engineering though he secretly may regret casting him aside as he recognizes a familiar cruelty in his son. |

He has been largely forgotten within the family estate yet inherited the mind and darkness of his bloodline. He was educated at a prestigious technical academy, passed with high marks and was placed aboard the Havraha as a minor systems officer. Over time and through attrition, he has usurped the more experienced engineers to become the Chief Engineer. |
