Personality & Traits
General Overview | Selari is quiet, serious, and introspective. She often keeps to herself, preferring solitude or the structured calm of a lab environment. Due to her Vulcan upbringing, she presents herself as emotionally restrained, but she privately struggles with emotional conflicts stemming from her Bajoran heritage. Her time aboard the Elysium has slowly taught her to seek balance rather than suppression. | |
Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths: • Academically gifted in quantum ecology, xenoscience, and astrophysics • Composed Under Pressure: Her Vulcan training helps her stay calm in most crisis scenarios. • Resilient: Having lost her father and been displaced from everything familiar, she’s quietly tenacious in adapting and moving forward. • Detail-Oriented: She notices patterns in plant behavior, atmospheric conditions, and even social nuances others might miss. Weaknesses: • Emotional Repression: Since her father’s death, she’s struggled more than ever to reconcile her emotional nature with her Vulcan teachings. • Social Isolation: While she craves connection, she’s reluctant to reach out to others or make friends. Her reserved nature is often mistaken for arrogance or aloofness. • Hyper-Fixation: She sometimes becomes so focused on her work that she forgets to eat, sleep, or engage socially. • Fear of Loss: She’s hesitant to become emotionally close to others, fearing abandonment or another unexpected tragedy. |

Ambitions | Ambitions & Hopes: Selari dreams of finding a sense of belonging in a universe where she often feels like a contradiction. She wants to prove herself useful aboard the Elysium, contribute to the ship's scientific work, and better understand both her Vulcan and Bajoran identities. Over time, she hopes to make real friendships and perhaps even find a calling that doesn’t rely on expectations placed upon her by either culture. |
Character Background
Personal History | Born into a household that balanced logic and emotion, Selari’s life was a quiet tug-of-war between two deeply rooted cultural ideologies. Her mother raised her with the tenets of Surak, emphasizing control, meditation, and intellectual growth. Her father, however, encouraged curiosity, emotional awareness, and empathy. Selari was academically gifted from a young age, particularly in the sciences—an interest nurtured by her father's love of exploration, though she did not get his love and interest in Xeno botany. The pair often worked together on small garden projects, even while aboard the USS Elysium when her father accepted a temporary position during an exploration mission, though her contribution was more of handing tools to him. Tragedy struck when the Elysium was pulled through a subspace rift into the Circinus Galaxy. Edan Vonn was one of the first casualties—his death a quiet, sudden blow that left Selari emotionally unmoored. T’Sava remains on Vulcan, separated by the galaxy-spanning void, and Selari now lives aboard the Elysium, hiding in plain sight without an actual guardian she lives alone. |
