| Physical Description | Varesh is slightly smaller than Thal’ra, although "smaller" remains a relative term when discussing a Rin’thar. He has a broad, powerful frame covered in deep charcoal-grey hide. Bronze-silver scales follow his shoulders, forearms and the sides of his neck, becoming darker with age. His eyes are a muted amber-gold. His cranial crest is shorter than Thal’ra's and carries four command scars. The most noticeable physical feature is the damaged left side of his face. A Thaih’ea energy weapon struck him during the Battle of the Third Moon, burning through part of his cheek and permanently damaging the lower edge of his cranial crest. Rin’thar medical technology could have removed much of the scarring. Varesh declined. When asked why, he once replied: “I remember perfectly well what happened. I see no reason my face should pretend otherwise.” His left ear also carries a small notch. Thal’ra caused that one. Neither will explain how. |

| General Overview | Varesh is quieter than Thal’ra. This occasionally leads people to assume he is the calmer of the two. People who serve with them know better. Thal’ra's emotions are obvious. If she is angry, everyone knows she is angry. Varesh becomes polite. Extremely polite. The more formal his language becomes, the more likely experienced officers are to begin looking for exits. He possesses a dry, understated sense of humour and has developed an almost legendary ability to puncture Thal’ra's most dramatic moments with a single sentence. He is pragmatic without being cynical, cautious without being timid and deeply loyal without being blindly obedient. Most importantly: Varesh does not worship Thal’ra. He respects her. He loves her in the complicated Rin’thar sense of a warrior who has spent nearly two decades trusting another person with his life. But he knows her flaws. Sometimes better than she does. |
