Character Background
| Personal History | At a young age, Durak's mother escaped Cardassia with him after the Dominion War, fearing what would happen to her and Durak and arrived on Earth, claiming diplomatic asylum. Durak's mother has never told anyone who his father is, only that he is dead. Durak grew up on Earth and considers Earth his home and not Cardassia. Growing up, he had a hard time socially because of his race with kids of many other species wanting to pick fights with him. At the age of 18, he applied to enlist in the Starfleet Marine Corps and after much deliberation among the recruitment staff, Durak was finally accepted. Durak was assigned to Parris Island for boot camp and was assigned as infantry upon graduation where he attended the School of Infantry at Quantico. After completing SOI, Durak was assigned to the USS Elysium. Lance Corporal Durak was killed in action during the retaking of the USS Elysium from the Mirror Universe assailants by throwing a grenade back at the attackers and jumping on a second grenade, saving Warrant Officer Man'darr in the process. |
