Brief Interview with Ms Elisha Pryce-Randal - onboard Ship Reporter

EPR: What is your role on the Elysium? And what does it entail?

I am and Operations Officer and my job is to manage the power needs of the Elysium so all departments have the power
they need at all times. We have a big distribution grid where we can see the power demands instantly and reroute power
accordingly. Even cut the power off completely if we have to or in case of an emergency.




EPR: What made you choose that line of work?

I am organized. I am attentive to detail and we all know Operations controls the status of the ship. No power? The Elysium
becomes a floating hulk and we do not want that. Doesn't matter what the engineers say

EPR: How do you handle the pressure that comes with being a Starfleet officer?

Sometimes it isn't easy. I can tell you that but most of the time you can find me running through the ship or swimming in the pool
Both are great ways to unwind. I also like to read that is great for passing time. I also like to get together with a few friends and just
spend time with them. Though so far with all that has happened I haven't met too many people. Another officer in Operations and an
Ensign in Flight Control. Both very nice, very personable and I'd like to get know them better. Just as friends you know? Someone to
talk to share your day with.



EPR: What would you say to a cadet aspiring to do what you do?

Give it all you have. This isn't a job or a posting it is a career and you need to think of it as such. If you do I can guarantee you
that you will be rewarded and noticed in a good way. Many Captains had their start in Operations. Like our own Captain Lalor.



EPR: What is your favorite memory of your time at the academy?

The day the operations team I was on managed to hack into our rivals over at the Merchant Marine Academy and take over their whole
power transfer grid. We had complete control over everything! It was glorious. To see them running around and yelling at each other
in frustration trying to get power back on. Though we finally had to restore power and face the wrath of the Academy's Commandant.
who praised our ingenuity but was less than thrilled with the chaos we created. We were all suspended from any extracurricular activities
for the semester. Still it was worth it.



EPR: Do you have any funny tales to tell about your time on the USS Elysium?

Not yet, well this wasn't funny it was nice. The Ensign I mentioned earlier? She brought several items to me to see if I could restore them.
Thin was they weren't hers but friends and she was really upset because some acid had spilled on the items and pretty much ruined them.
Well to make a log story short, I was to restore the items in question and just seeing that ensign smile made me feel great. I was able to
help her and her friend and that made feel great.
