Doctor Nevada McKay shivered in the chill air of the High Uintah Mountains, the Cold washing over her smooth dark skin. Her usual Uniform had been changed out for an unassuming pair of Khaki pants, and a Heavy canvas and synth wool Jacket to help stave off the shivers. She sighed quietly as she stared down at the pair of Headstones that she was standing before, the Granite slabs Jutting from a small rise In the Hilly Terrain. They were far from the only examples of headstones in the small cemetery, Hundreds of small Graves that dotted the land ranging from fairly recent ones to Stones of such age that any semblance of the Name the grave was supposed to Mark had long since been worn away by time. She shifted in place as she stared over the Names before her; Dr. David McKay and Dr. Oliva Fletcher McKay.

She stared hard and long at the names, her face a Confused twist of emotions, Anger, Rage, Sorrow and pain all staining her pretty face as she tried to come to terms with her parents death. While not a recent development, she’d been putting off Confronting it for the last four years. The Somber weight of the atmosphere had her typical Attitude Scattered to the wind, replaced with the Tragic grimace she now wore. Strangely enough it wasn’t the Fear of mortality or loss of her beloved family that Had her gut twisted into a knot. Rather it was the Mounting fear of her Self imposed immortality. Here she was, at the age of sixty five, one of the last Remaining Members of her family still alive, and yet she looked for all the world to see as young as the day she’d Left her home all those years ago. She let out a heavy sigh and folded her arms across her chest. “you stubborn fools…” she muttered aloud as she swayed in place. “If you had have been so dogmatic you wouldn’t have chased me away.” She sighed quietly.

Her expression softened slightly as she glanced to her mothers grave. “But…if you hadn’t chased me away, I would have never met T’runa,” she muttered quietly. “And I would have never had a purpose to my life,” she muttered quietly. “Fuck…,” she sighed and reached up to rub her temples, her eyes squeezing shut as she though back on her long life. “You damn fools…you were lousy parents….but good doctors,” she turned her gaze skyward and took a moment to compose herself before she glanced back a the graves, her hands balling into fists. “Well, maybe good enough have made a difference for the Galaxy at large,” she says softly. “So I suppose you weren’t total write offs,” she whispered before she turned to leave, her steps firm and confident as she walked away from her past yet again, Resolving to do so for good this time her steps getting faster and more determined as she Made her way out of the cemetery, and into her future.
