Having come back from Pacifica, the Elysium was preparing to leave soon. Naxea made her way down the corridor leading to the admin complex and her office. She was in a much better mood and things seemed better as the damage to Marine Country had finally been repaired. Stepping into her office, she spotted a woman with black hair with highlights, worn up professionally, dressed in the everyday Marine Duty Uniform while drinking a cup of...coffee from the smell. Must be a new recruit who is lost she thought. "Can I help you, Marine?"

The woman turned with a grin on her face. "Yes, get that damn replicator fixed so it can make a decent cup of coffee. This tastes like Ferengi shit."

Naxea was about to dress down the woman before she recognized her. "You would know, wouldn't you, you no good Talarian slug," Naxea said with a stern face, taking a step towards the woman.

"If your brain was half as quick as your mouth, you'd be a damn four star general by now," the woman replied, moving closer to Naxea

"If I was half as ugly as you, Staff Sergeant, I'd be a poster girl for prophylactic," Naxea came back, taking another few steps towards the woman.

"Still a nasty bitch," the woman laughed before Naxea hugged her. "Careful, people are going to think we're dating. Not that I'd mind."

Naxea let go of the woman she had first met when she took command of the Marine Raider Platoon. Staff Sergeant Luxa Gami was as tough and vicious as they came with a poor filter on her mouth when it came to speaking her mind--you never wanted to be on her bad side and consider yourself lucky should she ever call you a friend. "I'm glad to have you aboard," Naxea commented, backing up and taking a seat on the edge of her desk, crossing her arms.

Luxa finished another sip of the coffee, "Thanks, but I heard that you requested me specifically. Any reason why?"

"During our encounter with Terrans from the Mirror Universe, my detachment lost fifty-four Marines," Naxea explained. "I need Marines that I know for a fact that know war and can shove it down the enemies' throats, make them beg for mercy and give them none. We were born in war." Naxea had been born during the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor and Luxa had lived through the Dominion Occupation of Betazed at seven years old and aided in information gathering for the Betazed Resistance. It was one of the things that the two women had bonded over during their service together.

"Damn," Luxa said before remaining quiet for a thoughtful moment. "Consider me a part of your detachment. Any orders?"

"Get with Warrant Officer Man'darr and help get the new Marines squared away and up to training. Especially in close quarters and hand to hand combat. If any fail to meet the standards, they're gone," Naxea replied. She wasn't going to take anymore slacking off from her detachment as she had before.

"Consider it done," Luxa replied simply before her eyes took in the ring on Naxea's finger. She took a step forward, pointing at Naxea's hand. "What the hell is that?"

Naxea uncrossed her arms, holding up her right hand. "Ah, that's my engagement ring.."

"You? Engaged?" Luxa interrupted before breaking into a laugh.

Shrugging in response, Naxea tilted her head slightly. "Yeah. Why is that so funny?"

"Oh, I don't know...remember shoreleave on Risa?" Luxa offered, smiling widely.

"Damn...I was hoping to forget about that," Naxea said laughing, despite herself.

"Who else could turn a bar fight into a threesome with two trill? You were my hero," Luxa commented still laughing. She was happy to see her old CO and friend again.

"What can I say? I aim to please," Naxea shrugged, shaking her head slowly, still smiling. She let out a long breath before looking at Luxa. "Well, I better get back to the admin work. We'll catch up later, ok?"

"Sound good," Luxa replied before turning to exit the office. "See you, Major."

Naxea watched the woman walk out of her office and grinned. She had all she needed to turn the Sixty-Second Detachment into the most fierce detachment of Marines in Starfleet. May whatever gods our enemies believe in have mercy on them because my Marines will not.
