ON.

Carol Dolton sat in her cabin; she held a PaDD with a picture of the USS Chirikov the one place in this universe she'd been happy. How she got transferred to the Elysium from the NCC 58450 USS Ranger she didn't know, her deployment to Ranger was supposed to be temporary but then they heard that Chirikov had been reported missing. Captain Baptist at first made her feel she belonged on the Ranger, but Carol's temperament soon put paid to that. Then Baptist found out about her background, and things went south rapidly. Then came a Star Fleet request for people with flight training, and suddenly she got transferred to this rust bucket.

Standing she moved around the small cabin, her thoughts drifted back to her home. She hadn't seen it for over 15 years, and a universe away. She had been the XO of the Enchantress, one of a class of five ships designed to save the survivors of her Earth. Each of the ships could carry about ten thousand settlers, and had a crew of over two thousand. Somehow Enchantress had gotten separated from the Mystic and crossed a time line dilation point, the ship and her human cargo were catapulted into a worm hole and ended up in this almost similar time and place.

Of the over twelve thousand people on board, only seven thousand three hundred made it to this universe. The USS Hathaway found Enchantress adrift and powerless in the Rigel system, once they knew there were Humans on board a rescue mission had quickly been put in place. That had been fifteen years ago, since then Carol hadn't seen Earth and had killed at least five Klingons in this universe. As yet she hadn't been in contact with any Romulans, but she hoped she'd get her hands on at least one. Now she had some pink haired Ensign flying around her head, like some demented bat on a mission. Carol shook her head and looked at the picture again, "Oh Captain, if only you could see me now".

Life for Carol Dolton had become something to be avoided, that last meeting had proved that point. Between Bo Peep and laughing boy she just couldn't help herself; she snapped and went for laughing boy. Mind you as far as Carol was concerned, he deserved it with that wise crack about people from her universe. What did these people know about her and what she'd been through? Laughing boy hadn't watched his parents die in a Klingon attack, nor had he watched helpless as Romulans raped and enslaved his sister. Some of this crew had similar experiences when they were attacked by the mirror universe ship, and the Command staff had been prisoners of the Romulans. What they'd gone through wasn't available to read, the Captain had ordered it sealed. But she could guess, Romulans were Romulans no matter what universe they were in.

Perhaps she'd better go see the Captain of this bunch of nutters, before Ensign bubble gum girl put her two pennies' worth in. Carol now checked herself, no that wouldn't work she wasn't the type to go running to the Captain. Her training as an Officer had taught her how to handle problems like this, but she wasn't an Officer any more she wasn't the XO either. So, for now she would wait and see just what repercussions awaited her for her outburst.
