Location: VIPER, Dead planet, Smuggler's moon
The cold light of day crept over the planet's horizon, bathing the cold dead surface in its pale light. The ground crunched under foot as the lone figure, cloaked, hooded and covered to keep the blowing dust and sand off its skin, traipsed across the landscape, a heavy backpack on its back, a sword at its hip and a phaser rifle in its hands, its destination unknown to any observer. But the figure knew where it was going, it's destination was already in sight, though hours away on foot.
line of distant mountains, where, for the figure, a way off this world waited.
A dead planet, no people lived here anymore, well no one originally from it anyway. It was now a way point for smugglers and bandits. A trading post was set up, transient yet always on the planet.
It moved like a giant sand worm, pausing only at night, which is when the figure had snuck in and out of it. A tracking beacon always told smugglers where the post was.
The figure had done what it needed to do. Sneak in, and out, get the information and other items. Items, it would require in the future, items it just plainly wanted as it thought it would come in handy eventually.
A glance at the distant horizon showed that the second of the planet's three suns was beginning to crest and the figure picked up pace. If it got caught outside when that sun reached its zenith, then the figure would die.
Hours later, it made it, to a shallow gully, and the sleek shuttle that awaited it. A code was entered and the hatch slid open. Entering the shuttle swiftly, the figure closed the hatch behind itself.
Once the coolness of the shuttle had started to seep into the sun heated clothing, the figure pushed off the hood and stripped off the cloak, and wrappings to reveal a slim female humanoid. Phoenix Lalor took a deep breath and sighed as she put the backpack down on one of the many crates of belongings and other important items.
It had not been easy but she had completed her mission. Well that part of it anyway.
Orders were orders and now she had gained the information on the Watch, and she could now head for Illumith. That backpack contained that information as well as a number of other items she had gotten. A glance out the window showed that the second sun had joined the first in the sky and the third would soon be peeking over the horizon. The third was nothing more than a captured comet but it did enough to scramble everything on the planet other than the Trading Post, which was shielded from it.
Briskly Phoenix entered the cockpit and set the ship in motion. It took off smoothly and entered the atmosphere before going to warp. It would take 3 days to get to the Illumith but she would use the time to review her information and set about getting things in place. Phoenix Lalor would vanish and Lilly Kass would rise in her place.
