Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Deck 32
781 words - 1.6 OF Standard Post Measure

The floating robot looked out of place among the corridors of the Marines area of the ship. Snow floated onwards a small tray hovering under him with various medical deliveries of drugs, cream, and other niceties that the ship's marines would need.

Next on the little machines list was the commander of the marines so he calmly moved over to her office. As the door alert had a habit of missing him he replicated a small potato gun and fired a small pellet to activate the door alert. He'd found most of the crew didn't appreciate him teleporting into their rooms without asking.

"Medicine delivery colonel." He announced as he heard the door chirp.

"Enter," Naxea replied from her desk. Lately she was seeing far more of her office than she would like but until she completed her physical rehabilitation and could pass the Starfleet Marine Physical Fitness test, she was assigned to administrative duties only which added to her frustration.

"Good morning colonel. How is your day going." The Excom said as he floated in and placed the Colonel's prescription on her desk using his small tractor beam along with a padd.

"Sthilg is seeing I'm taking my medicine I see," she commented, looking at the Excom, to the medicine and then to the PaDD. "What's on the PaDD?"

"A recusation form. " The small robot stated calmly. " I have a project I'm working on and I was hoping you could assist me."

Naxea got up and walked to the replicator. "12 ounce glass of water. Room temperature." A glass of water materialized in the replicator as Naxea grabbed it with her good hand and sat back down at her desk and took the medicine followed by a glass of water. She almost began to feel better instantly due to the pills' instant absorption coating. Picking up the PaDD, her brow furrowed in confusion as she read the requisition contained on it. "I can't help you with the cybernetic arms, but what do you need with Marine Armor?"

"My time on this ship has informed me that despite my people's abilities we lack something that could aid me in my duties as a duty nurse. Arms." The little robot said as he brought up a projection of the plans he'd been working on.

They showed a modified suit of marine armour with his exocom body mounted in the chest area. Where the head would have been was a collection of medical scanners modified to appear to have a head like a shape.

"The armour used by Federation Marines would match my requirements more easily than standard starfleet suits. With the armour and combat, electronics removed my chassis should fit with only minor adjustments. " He explained.

"I see. Have you showed this to Doctor Sthilg?" Naxea asked as she looked over the plans. To be honest, she was rather impressed with the design.

"I intend to, but the doctor is fairly busy at the moment preparing for the birth of his granddaughter. I shall also be informing Lieutenant Victor Barclay de Tolly." The robot replied.

"Very well," Naxea said as she applied her thumbprint to the requisition form. "I will authorize the use of one standard Marine Assault Armor." A part of still felt strange talking to an Excom but it did show intelligence and sentience. "Will you still be able to fly with all of that weight?"

"Sadly no which means I'll need to work on a program to walk. " The small robot replied.

"Then you're more or less need an entire body--that is quite an undertaking," she admitted. "Let's hope you don't freak out the crew after you get the body built."

"I'm sure they will adjust. Is everything okay with your arm?" The robot asked.

It feels fine and physical therapy is going about as good as can be expected," she reported, glancing at the arm. It still didn't feel like her arm and she still could barely pick up a glass of water with it still, although her range of movements was improving.

The small robot ran a quick scan over the arm. " Everything appears to be working just fine. You'll just need to keep working and it will soon be back to normal."

"Easier said than done," she replied. "Well, I wish you luck in your endeavor for a new body."

"And I wish you luck with your new arm. I'll see you around." The small robot said as it floated towards the door.

Naxea nodded as she watched the small machine fly out of the room, leaving her once again with her thoughts.
