Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Pacifica
Timeline: 2389
3121 words - 6.2 OF Standard Post Measure

Collapsing onto his back, panting, covered in sweat, Mattias had no words for what had just happened. All he could manage to say was, "Wow...!"

She nodded and realised that it was now dark outside. "Wow is right.." Phoenix rolled into his side. "I.. didn't know... that you were hungry for that."

Chuckling horsly, he wrapped his arm around her back, holding her to him. "For you, my love, I seem to have a voracious appetite."

"Hmm it seems to be that case." She smiled up at him, "I am not complaining."

Smiling down at her, a deep sigh of contentment flowed through him. "If it weren't for the other biological needs, i would stay here with you until the end of time."

"Hmm unfortunately food is needed to survive." Phoenix nuzzled his neck. "I am going to go down to the kitchen." She slid from the bed and his grasp and after a quick search through her bag, shrugged a robe on and headed for the kitchen.

Mattias waited a few moment longer. Then, growling softly, he rolled out of the luxurious bed and rummaged through his bag and pulled out a pair of athletic shorts and a tank top. Once dressed, he made his way downstairs.

Phoenix had found the Kitchen and after a moment staring out at the water, with the moons reflected on the water, she had found the ingredients she needed for her meal. She boiled the water and began cutting up the cooked chicken from the replicator.

Stepping up to the doorway into the kitchen, Mattias grabbed the top of the door frame and stretched his entire frame as he gazed over at Phoenix as she moved about the kitchen. He had a soft smile on his face as he watched her.

She didn't notice him, as she was focused on cooking. Pasta went into the pot of boiling water and a smaller saucepan was put on the stove as she made the alfredo sauce. She chopped mushrooms and sauted the onions. She hummed softly as she did so, just a wordless song.

Moving over and up behind her, Mattias warpped his arms around Phoenix, gently kissing the right side of her neck. "You're so beautiful, my love."

Shifting she smiled up at him. "Thank you Love, but there are much more beautiful women out there." She touched his cheek. " That said, I think I hit the ... jackpot.. with you."

Shaking his head slowly, Mattias had a soft smile on his face and love in his eyes. "Oh no, sweetheart," he kissed her right cheek. "We both..." left cheek. "Hit..." tip of her nose. "The jackpot." A soft, passionate kiss on her lips as he pulled her to him.

She shifted closer in his arms and kissed him back just as passionately. Then, gently she broke it. "I have to finish cooking dinner." she whispered.

Smiling, he replied. "Okay. I'll set the table and see what they've got to drink around here."

Phoenix nodded and turned back to their meal. She concentrated on it and soon enough was putting two large bowls of the meal on the table. "This should give you your energy back." She grinned and turned to make sure the kitchen was cleared.

At the same time, Mattias returned to the table with an old bottle of Romulan Ale. "Please remind me to thank the owners of this lovely home."

She turned. "Isn't that stuff illegal?" she asked brightly.

Looking up, Mattias quickly gazed out the window, then back at Phoenix. Then he sighed softly, forgetting how naive Phoenix was. "You're right. I'll go put it back. I don't want you to do anything you'd be uncomfortable with." He started to turn back.

"I never said that" She said softly. "If you do not tell, I wont."

Mattias stopped and slowly turned to face Phoenix. "Your Highness! I had no idea that you enjoyed breaking the rules!" Though his was chuckling, his eyes showed that he wasn't making fun of her. Moving back to the table, he sat down. Then after grabbing her glass, he poured only a single finger of ale into her glass. "Be careful with this stuff. It'll jump up and slap ya, if you go too fast."

He poured some into his glass and tgen held ut up in a toast. "To all of the adventures that life has planned for us."

She held hers up in response. "To that and more." she said. "And I have already broken several rules you know."

Mattias gave her a suprised look as he brought his glass to his mouth and took a healthy gulp, his face only twitching slightly. "Not my first time."

Slowly she took a sip and swallowed with a slight grimace. "Tastes ok.." she got out.

Smiling softly, he asked. "You sure? That face didn't really jive with your words, sweetheart. It's okay if you don't like it. We don't have to drink it. I think i saw some Betazed Honey Nectar in the fridge."

"No its ok, I have heard its an acquired taste." She took another sip.

Mattias grinned, glad she was willing to try new things. He waited patiently for her reaction.

So she finished half and then put it down. "Yeah, maybe in a few years." She began to eat her meal.

Chuckling softly, He took her glass poured its contents into his glass, then got up, tiok her glass to the sink and quickly rinsed it out, dried it, grabbed the bottle of nectar from the fridge and, as he walked back to the table, poured her some. "Here," he said softly as he set the glass back down and moved back to his seat. "That should be more to your liking, my love."

Phoenix smiled. "Thank you" She said with her normal politeness. "It most likely is, seeing that Erisia does not export much at the moment."

Smiling, Mattias replied. "You're welcome." Then, as he started to get his first fork full of alfredo, he said, "Hopefully that'll change one day. Your world has a lot to offer the universe." He put the food in his mouth and stopped.

"Yeah as soon as the males on the planet get their heads out of their behinds." she quipped. "But I do not foresee that in my lifetime."

Swallowing the bite of food, Mattias looked at Phoenix. "You are brilliant..funny...beautiful...damn sexy...phenomenal in bed....AND you can cook?! Whomever ends up marrying you will be quite the lucky person!"

She blushed to the roots of her hair. "Thank you." she got out as she tried to stop blushing.

He raised his glass of ale and dipped his head, in salute to her.

Still smiling, Phoenix continued eating. In the distance she could hear the waves crashing on the beach. "Do you want to go for a walk after this?"

Hearing the waves as well, Mattias took another bite of his food. After wiping his mouth with his napkin and swallowing, re replied. "Yeah, that sounds like it'll be fun." He gave her a little smile as he returned to his meal.

Smiling, Phoenix said "I guess we had better dress before we go down though."

Looking down at both of their attire, he chuckled. "Yeah, I suppose that would be a good idea." His eyes sparkled at her as he spoke.

"I guess beaches are old hat to you." She smiled. "Women are not allowed on beaches on Erisia."

This suprised him. "What? You mean...you've never been on a beach?" A quiet sigh of consternation passed through him. Things on the world of her birth really needed to change.

"Oh in San Francisco, but it was only a short time." She said. "It's an experience I loved."

Smiling, he finished his dinner. After taking another sip of his drink, he wiped his mouth clean again. "Well, if you'd really like a beautiful beach, perhaps one day, aside from here that is, I'll take you to Risa. The beaches there are spectacular."

"I heard about Risa from other cadets. They say that if you go there be prepared for lots of naked people. That can't be all true right?"

Tilting his head to the left and right, he sat forward and replied honestly. "Depends on where you go on the planet. For a good majority of the area, clothing is required. However, there are areas, reseved for adults only, where clothing is optional."

She gave him an impish smile. "Have you been to those areas?"

Shaking his head, he replied. "No. Never had anyone to go with. Until now." His eyes took on a mischievous look to them.

"Ah..." smiling she stood and took her plate into the kitchen area. "Sounds like an idea?"

Mattias stood, taking his dish into the kitchen as well. "I'll call ahead, see about getting a spot reserved. From what I've heard, it could take a while, depending on how backed up they are." He started to clean his dish and utensils, then motioned for her to put hers in the sink. "Why don't you go up and get ready. I'll finish cleaning up down here, grab some clothes and use the shower down here." He leaned in and kissed her. "Otherwise we will never see anything of Pacifica, other than our bedroom." He grinned as he finished speaking.

Smiling she kissed him back and then darted up stairs to shower and change.

20 minutes later she was dressed in shorts and a tank top with sandals on her feet.

Mattias exited the downstairs bathroom, wearing khaki shorts a linen button up shirt and docksider shoes. He smiled when he saw Phoenix. "Very nice, sweetheart! You all set?"

Phoenix nodded. "Yes." She replied with a grin. "I've locked the front door so we can go out via the back deck."

Mattias moved closer, holding out his left hand. "Then let's hit it!"

She took his hand and let him pull her out the door and down the steps to the path that lead through the dunes to the beach.

A few minutes later, the couple was walking, hand in hand, along the shoreline, talking happily about the things new couples talked about.

As they eventually turned to return, Phoenix stopped and took off her sandals. She wriggled her toes in the damp sand. "It's lovely out here."

Mattias took in a big breath of salty air. Closing his eyes, hearing the waves swell and crash, he grinned softly. "It almost sounds like the reactor that was on the Silcer Linings."

"Was that where you grew up?" Phoenix asked

Opening his eyes, he looked down at her, seeing her gazing up at him in curiosity. "Yeah. And, aside from when I was born, until I left for the Academy, I didn't live anywhere else but between her hullplates. Its probably why I'm more comfortable out there, instead of on a planet. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy planets. But, I love space."

"And zero G" she teased him as they kept walking.

"Ha ha," he replied, pulling her in close to tickle her. "Very funny!"

Laughing she slid her arms around his neck and kissed him lightly.

Rsliding his arms around her hips, Mattias lifted Phoenix off of her feet easily, raising her high enough that he looked up at her. "If I never live another day after this one, i will still die a very happy man!"

Phoenix smiled. "I am sure you will live a long happy life."

Smiling brightly at her, he slowly started to lower Phoenix back to her feet. "So long as I'm by your side, I know that I'll be happy."

Once back on her feet, she slid an arm around his waist and leaned against him as they stood there. She rested her head on his shoulder. "I hope that this lasts for a long time."

Holding her close, as he gazed out over the gentle swells of the ocean, he sighed contently. "As do I, sweetheart. As do I."

After a few minutes they kept on walking back up to the beach house.

Just before they reached the stairs, Phoenix paused, and turned to the water. She dropped her sandals in the sand and headed back to the water's edge. "I want to get my feet wet," she told him.

Smiling, Mattias dropped his shoes and headed out after her. As they entered the water, at first, the tempetature was a little cool but soon became comfortable. Looking around them, he saw no one else anywhere. Looking up, the sky was so clear, it was almost like looking at the stars through a viewport on the Monty.

Two of the planet's four moons were overhead, the forest moon, Frel and the barren moon, Geltoa. There was also the lavender and blue colored Hyroot Nebula. The rest of the sky was filled with stars native to this area of space.

Bringing his eyes back down to the water, he saw Phoenix staring at him. Grinning, he chuckled and asked, "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You look happy" She said with a smile. "Very happy."

Smiling broadly, he looked back up at the sky. "How could I not with all that beauty up there," he lowered his eyes back to hers. "And infinitly more down here." He stepped closer, putting his hands on her hips and looking deep into her eyes, he said. "You are so very beautiful, Phee." He leaned in and kissed her, softly, tenderly, as the waves continued to gently crash against their calves.

She wrapped her arms around his neck as they kissed. "And you are very handsome." she whispered against his lips.

Sliding his hands to the small of her back, he asked, "How would you say that in Erisian?"

She leaned back. "Why do you want to know?" she asked curiously.

He shrugged slightly. "I've always thought your native language was very lovely but, I've never heard you speak it." He looked deep into her eyes and asked again. "Please?"

"Lle naa Li'itiea" she said with a soft smile.

Mattias felt shivers run down his spine when Phoenix spoke. He made a soft yummy sound at the sensation. "I don't know what you do differently but, when others speak, its lovely. When you speak, it sends a delicious shiver up and down my spine. Would you...say more?" He started to get a hungry look in his eyes.

"What would you like me to say?" she asked curiously.

He smiled, pulling her closer, his right hand sliding up to gently cup her cheek. Looking deeply into her eyes, he whispered, "Anything...everything. teach me what I need to know to communicate with you. You learned my native language. I want to do the same, for you." He kissed her again.

Smiling she kissed him back. "ok.. try this: Amin mela lle"

He thought for a moment, trying to move his mouth as she did hers. "Ahmen mella Eele?" He knew that he had butchered it. He just hoped he didn't say anything insulting.

Laughing she repeated it "Amin mela lle"

Taking a pause, Mattias tried again. "Amin mela Ile..."

She kissed him. "Perfect" she whispered.

He beamed, both from the delicious kiss and the praise. "What does it mean?" He asked, feeling proud of learning more about her and her world.

"I love you." She said with a smile.

A warm smile crossed his face. "Amin mela Ile, Phoenix Lalor, now and always."

"Amin mela Ile Mattias Richardson" Phoenix kissed him gently.

For several moments, they stood there, wrapped in each other so much, they failed to notice the sea level had risen to just under Phoenix’s breasts.

Until the next wave knocked them both off their feet and under the water.

Phoenix sputtered as she surfaced and reached for him. "Matt!"

Regaining his footing, he reached out and pulled Phoenix to him. He pulled her legs around his waist and held her to him. "You're safe, sweetheart. I've got you. Looks like I need to teach you how to swim, eh?" He was very comfortable in the water. It was the closest one could come to zero gee on a planet.

"I.. can float and.. what my instructors said was 'doggy paddle' but that is it." She clung to him.

Smiling softly, he said, "Okay. Tomorrow, when it's light out, we will come back out here and I'll try to teach you the standard strokes, freestyle, butterfly, back and breast stroke. You learn those and you'll be golden, okay?"

"ok.." she spat water from her mouth as they floated there.

Mattias was using his strong legs to tread water, keeping them in place. Slowly, he turned, so his back was to the beach and angled his kicks to slowly propel them back to the shore. "See? Let your legs flow behind you. Stretch them out. Good, now, point your toes and start moving your legs like they were a pair of scissors. That's it, not so stiff. Relaxe your legs. Don't kick from your knees. You'll use too much energy and not get anywhere. Start the kick at your hips."

Slowly she did so, allowing him to coach her to get her legs moving. "So people like enjoy this?" she asked.

Nodding and smiling softly, he slowly started to turn thm parallel to the beach, tring to get back to where they had stated, as the current had moved them down the shoreline about twenty meters. "Yeah, it can be a very xathartic exercise."

She smiled and pushed her hair back from her face with one hand and paddled as best she could until they felt sand beneath their knees.

"There you go!" He praised honestly. Standing up, he helped Phoenix to her feet. "How did that feel?"

"Water was warm" she smiled and looked down at her clothes. "Drenched and covered in sand... I guess it is what it is."

"Well now, looks we need to get cleaned off and back in a warm bed. How does that sound to you?" He gave her an impish grin as he finished speaking.

"Like a good idea."

Smiling, he moved over to where their shoes were, picking up both pairs. Then, turning back to Phoenix, he swept her up into his arms. Smiling at her, he held her close and carried her inside.

Phoenix curled against him and rested her head on his shoulder as he did so.

Carrying Phoenix upstairs, Mattias said his new favorite three words to her softly. "Amin mela Ile."
