Stepping out of her sonic shower, Lia crossed the room quickly. This kind of shindig wasn't her favourite thing, but now she was back she was gonna join in despite her reservations. Lia had picked out an Ice Blue Kimono with a white edging to it, to mimic snow and ice. Her tabi socks would add to the snow effect, she then chose a bright red obi. That was her nod to Christmas, she had also decided to take her only Japanese fan with her. It had a painting of Mount Fuji on it, and was over two hundred years old. Normally she wouldn't dream of even using it, but it was Christmas after all. Lia would have to guard the fan with her life, but she did want everyone to see and enjoy it.
"Computer, play the song `Yume to Hazaruka' from my play list". The piano started to play and the singer followed behind, Lia in her Kimono started to dance in traditional Japanese style to the tune. She wasn't very good, Oka-san would probably scold her for the mistakes she was making. Even though she wasn't Japanese, Lia enjoyed listening and joining in with Japanese dance and culture. One day she would be able to speak Japanese without the bloody universal translator, one day she thought. Another song now started, it was the song `Little Apple' Lia danced a little quicker, but gave up as she forgot the steps. "Bugger it, never could keep up with that one", she said to herself.
Checking herself out in the mirror she nodded, turning she picked up the mask and left for the party. She held onto the door frame as she struggled to put her wooden Gata on, those traditional Japanese sandals would click and clack throughout the corridor as she walked. oO At least everyone will hear me coming Oo she thought.
