Ensign Napoleon Bond who was the Computer Engineer on board which meant even though he was an Engineering Officer, he had times to work with Operations. He was busy in his lab running diagnostics on the computer core with Ensign Louis Bordeaux.

“Napoleon,” Louis says as he was using his tricorder, “What are you hoping to find. I did this at the Academy but first time as an Ensign.”

“The Lieutenant wants us to determine if there was any damage,” Napoleon says as he was doing his part. “Plus you need to know this if anything ever happened again. Tonya was my backup but she is in Logistics now and we certainly can not ask Victor to help us. He is the Chief.”

“Indeed,” Louis replied. “We are about finished.”

“In another five to ten minutes,” Napoleon answered.

Baeryn entered with a PaDD in her hand, her brow pinched with mild frustration. She didn't like the reports she was reading. Finally looking up she spotted both males, "Ah Ensign Bond I was looking for you." She straightened looking to his fellow ensign. She extended a hand, "Lieutenant Whavi." She said in greeting, curious as to whom he was.

Louis’s instinct was to salute the Lieutenant. “Ensign Louis Bordeaux at your service.”

Napoleon followed with a salute. “Lt. Whavi,” he sensed frustration, “How may we help thee?”

Baeryn gave Bordeaux a warm smile before turning to Bond and handing him the PaDD she had been reading as she entered. "The weapons relay wont calibrate correctly ever since we rejoined the saucer section of the ship. Something keeps knocking it off balance and I would like you to look into it. I'm sure it's nothing too serious but I want it fully operational as soon as possible. This may mean you need to take the whole relay offline which I'm not comfortable with, so please try to avoid that."

“Yes Mam,” Napoleon answers congenial. “Louis, we need to see if this is related to the computer core. The weapons relay interfaces with the computer.” Napoleon turns his screen around. “I was preparing an email I was going to send to you, Chief Barclay de Tolly and the Commander.”

Louis adds, “Be sure to add Lt. Kara Hoffman.”

“Kara was transferred to another ship,” Napoleon replied. “When I know who replaces her then he or she will be informed as well.”

Baeryn tried not to let the news of Kara leaving have any effect on her expression, she choose to ignore the comment and leaned forward to study the screen. "Have you been able to detect any damage to the computer core yet? These diagnostics look inconclusive."

“There has been a decrease in the efficiency of the core by fourteen percent,” Napoleon said exhaling lightly. “An hour ago, it was twenty three percent. Louis found a small program in a continuous loop as he was able to pin point where it was happening and I with the help of Louis, we were able to fix the server issue because it kept looking for a sensor reading from the power relay which it turned out was damaged during the ruckus Mam. It should have been back to normal after an hour by now but it is slowly building up back to one hundred efficiency. I am looking at the dual processing to see if there is an issue there.”

“While Napoleon is focusing on the firm and software Mam,” Louis said next as he had waited his turn patiently, “I am looking at the hardware. The primary console for it was partially damaged when we had the shields protecting the Engineering decks. The secondary console has allowed us to run diagnostics.”

Baeryn nodded, impressed with their report. "Well then, it seems you two have this under control. Though I am curious to see if we can speed up the efficiency in the core. Perhaps we're missing something." She crossed her arms over her chest brainstorming solutions.

“We could regulate with a sensor so the electron flow will be compensating when the core is not being taxed,” Louis answers.

“I do feel we have this under control,” Napoleon replied earnestly. “Louis, whatever you do, do not mess up the safety protocols. We never had a breach since I have been here and I sure not want to have one now. It will be my head on a silver platter.”

“Understood,” Louis replied.

Whavi arched a brow at Bond's response. His warning was well warranted, she would have said the same had she been in his position. "When can I expect a report?" She wouldn't be too hard on them but she also didn't want to seem like this was being lax in the importance f the job set before them.

“Before our shift is finished with Lieutenant,” Napoleon responded with confidence.

Louis scratched his chin a bit. “Maybe if we asked Alice to join us. She has had experienced with this before either of us have come on to this ship.”

Napoleon pressed his communication badge not realizing Alice was nearby. “Alice, we need your help.”

Alice who was on a coffee break responded, “I will be right there Mr. Bond.”

Napoleon asks Baeryn, “Are there any more questions Mam?”

Baeryn shook her head no, "I'll be around should you need me." She nodded goodbye to both males and then turned to leave, headed to discover what the rest of her department was working on and their progress. She was confident that Bond and Bordeaux would have there task completed in no time.

After she left, Napoleon said to Louis, “Very professional officer she is.”

“Indeed she is,” Louis replied. “The Lieutenant does not seems to be distracted.”

“Indeed,” Napoleon says as he turns to Louis saying, “We need to get the Assistant Chief involved in this. Right now it might be a little thing but I have seen in my short career in Starfleet, problems can increased exponentially.”

“Let’s regulate the electron flow first,” Napoleon nods. “It will only take a few minutes. After that, we can see what else is going on.”
