Lia had eventually reached her cabin, some away teams were still on the planet but for now her shift was over. As she approached the cabin a thought struck her, just how would Gary greet her? She had sent him her special Christmas song, did he understand? Lia pushed the door control and as it opened she noticed Gary had been busy, it looked like a fairy grotto in there. "Hi, you've been busy", she said as she entered.

He turned, a bright smile on his face. "Lia!" He exclaimed happily as he closed the distance between them. Reaching her her kissed her lovingly and hugged her as well. "Thank you so much for your wonderful Christmas song. It was perfect. Now come in and sit down. I have some Dabo chicken, some crackers and cheese along with some wine or Sake whichever you prefer waiting. Also have a couple of other surprises for you."

Lia returned the kiss and hugged Gary tightly to her, "You've been a busy little Santa, but don't expect me to be an elf. Green don't suit me, but as for a drink Sake for this girl please". She crossed to the bedroom and slid the door across, "Just getting out of this monkey suit, and into my Yukata". She didn't close the door any more, they were married after all and Gary had seen everything before now. Grabbing the Yukata she simply put it on, nothing else just her Yukata. Heading back into the sitting room she sat on the sofa and looked at Gary, "Well I'm all yours now, and it is Christmas after all". A sly smile crossed her lips, it was nice to be home.

Gary smiled at her, as he had gone into the kitchen and gotten Lia a glass of Sake holding it in one hand and a plate of Dabo chicken in the other. "Something to begin with. I also have Japanese mushroom rice and some Japanese fried corn also cooking. I hope that meets with your approval." He teased as he sat down next to her giving her a kiss as he did.

Taking her glass of Sake, Lia noted the condensation on the glass. "Nice and cold, just how I like it". She looked at the plate of chicken, "Have I converted you to Japanese cuisine? This looks great and the corn and mushrooms sound magical, dare I ask what reward you will claim?" Lia giggled as she spoke, then leaned in and returned her husband's kiss. "As for my approval, you got that when we got married".

"Well, I don't know if converted is the right word Lia but I definitely like it and I like seeing you dressed like this. It shows off your wonderful figure. As for the reward, I'm sure we can agree on something that is going to be mutually beneficial and pleasing to us both." Gary bantered back. He kissed her tenderly, He loved Lia totally and completely, "Whew, that's a relief." Gary teased again. "So, I can go and be a slob now?" He joked before kissing the woman he loved more than all the stars in sky.

"SLOB!! You a slob? I know a few good people who'd give a lot to see that". She again giggled as she talked, "Well before you go completely feral, I'm sure I can tempt you with a small view of dessert". Lia now let the Yukata slip from her shoulders, it showed Gary that it was all she wore.

Gary laughed uproarishly at Lia's reaction to his comment. His lowered to her chest and what had been uncovered. "I will say this, actions speak louder than words and in this case your actions speak volumes Lia. A true masterpiece and one that should be loved and handled with tender loving care."

"Once the food has been served and enjoyed, I'm sure you can make good on that comment". She now leaned in and kissed Gary's cheek, "Now where's that aroma coming from? And do I get to see and enjoy it?"

"But of course you do Lia." Gary answered with a grin as he rose from the sofa and headed into the kitchen. After a few minutes he returned with two bowls one with the mushroom rice and the other with the fried corn. Setting them down in front of Lia, he said 'Dig in and enjoy. I'll be right back with mine." AS he disappeared back into the kitchen only to return a few moments later. Making his way back to the couch he sat down next to her. "Alright, now we can eat together."

“Itadakimasu”, Lia now said as she put her hands together. Then picking up a bowl and her chopsticks she started to place food into the bowl, first the mushroom rice then the fried corn. She also placed her Sake above her bowl, then with a quick nod to Gary she picked up both chopsticks and bowl and started to eat. After about two or three minutes she turned to Gary, "My compliments to the chef, this tastes very good".

"Wakanokasaka" Gary said as he took his chopsticks and began putting some rice and then corn into his bowl. He wasn't as adept as Lia but he got the job done without making a fool of himself. "The cook appreciates the compliment. I enjoy cooking and having you show me the Japanese cuisine, I enjoy it even more." Gary answered as he used his chopsticks and picked up some rice without spilling it all over the sofa. He reached for his glass of wine. "Not that I doubted you but this is really good."

Lia looked at Gary, "Say what? Do you want to explain what you just said, Waka-what?"

Gary grinned at her like the Cheshire cat, "Wakanokasaka."He replied slowly. "It means knocks your socks off." A serious look on his face before it split into a huge smile and he laughed rich and full. His laughter filling their quarters.

"Oh one day Gary Taylor, one day", she joined in the laughter and returned to her food. "So where did you get that word from? I can't say I've heard it anywhere", she looked at Gary and waited for an answer.

Gary continued to laugh, this was just one of the many things he loved about Lia. She had a great sense of humor. "It just popped into my head and it sounds Japanese, so I figured why not?"

"Oh it certainly sounds Japanese, and it got me wondering. All I will say to you is..........BAKA!!" She now collapsed into giggles, "I'll leave you to work out what that means, but its a real word". She now began to refill her bowl, "And the chef outshone himself with the food, I may have to replace my husband with him".

"I will definitely look into the word but in the meantime, I wish to enjoy the food and the company." Gary replied as he refilled his bowl. "As for replacing your husband with the chef, are you sure that is wise? Granted the chef is an amazing cook but your husband loves you and is very attentive to you."

Lia glanced at Gary, a wry smile on her lips. "Well they do say it's the food of love, so what's a girl to do?" She sat for all to two seconds before falling into fits of laughter, the look on Gary's face had said it all. "Don't worry, you have something I don't think the chef has. And if you don't know what that is, I'm sure we can both work it out later".

"Glad to hear it Lia." Gary bantered back. "Ohhhhh, that sounds like marvelous fun, I'm already looking forward to that."

Placing her bowl on the table, Lia turned to Gary. "Do you realise this will be our first Christmas as man and wife? And I have no idea what to get you for the big day, but I will see what comes to mind". She took Gary's hand, "Lets make this Christmas a good one, I love you Gary Taylor".

"Yes. I do. Really? I had no problem finding, picking out gifts for you. "I know you will find something and I will love it as much as I love you." His fingers tightened over hers. "And make no mistake, I love you very much Lia Taylor." He smiled at her suggestion, "Sounds like an absolutely wonderful idea." As he leaned in and kissed her.

As Gary kissed her, Lia thought about the path they had taken to this point. She leaned in and returned the kiss passionately, "All I can think of giving you is me, and I'm not that much of a present".

Gary shook his head, "Nonsense. The value of the gift is in who receives it and as I am your husband, I think it is the most wonderous gift I could and will ever get. You are a most amazing woman Lia." He said softly as he kissed her neck.

As Gary kissed her, Lia simply allowed him to and enjoyed the kiss fully. "No gift wrapping, only a Yukata. Are you sure you want something so simple?"

Bringing his lips off Lia's skin, Gary looked at her. "My dear Lia, there is nothing simple about you. You are the most elaborate and complex present I could ever receive." As he kissed her again and again.

Standing up, Lia headed for the bedroom. "I think you should unwrap your present, so unless you have something better to do?" She left the question hanging, and turned into the bedroom.

"What a wonderful suggestion. One I am, all in favor of." Gary replied with a smile, following Lia into the bedroom.
