Olivia was doing a bit of practice one of her routines out on the ice since she had a competition come up in a couple of weeks. She was debating on what music to use with the routine so she was allowing different songs to play as she did the routine to see which one she thought would be the best one to use when it came time for the competition. Her daily routine was the same each day for the most part with at least three hours of practice in the mornings out on the ice. Then doing a couple hours at the gym working out on different equipment. Her gym routine would change slightly each day to keep it from getting dull and to work different area’s of her body to keep her strength up at the same time. After leaving the gym, Olivia headed towards the store to get some food items that she needed to stock up on for the next couple of weeks. She knew that with the up coming competition her time would be limited on doing much else other than practice and work out.
Two weeks later….
Olivia was back at the ice rink for the ice skating competition. She had chosen one of her orange outfits with black stripes and skirt that was almost mid-thigh in the front and slightly longer in the back to wear for this particular competition. The song she had finally decided to use for the routine was a song from Earth’s early to mid-1980’s “Eye of the Tiger.” It was a song that she felt suited for this routine that she was using this particular competition.
The first round of ice skaters had already performed their routines out on the ice. Olivia was out on the ice now with the last batch of ice skaters doing a bit of warm up before the second round started up. She had three skaters ahead of her before she was to do her routine out on the ice for the judges. So once everyone was back off the ice, Olivia would spend a bit of time back in the warm up area to keep moving so that she wouldn't get to stiff and cold before her time out on the ice. Each routine was roughly three minutes long, but then there was the time to give the judges to do their scores.
After waiting as patiently as she possibly could Olivia was now out on the ice poised and waiting for her music to start. Once her music started, Olivia started to gracefully move to the music. Throughout her routine, Olivia hit all her marks and jumps with the exception of one jump. It was supposed to be a triple toe loop and ended up being a double. This particular jump was one of the ones she had thrown in for a few extra bonus points and hopefully she would still get a few in the end.
Back off the ice, Olivia was over in the waiting area to await her scores. After the judges finally made their decisions, her score was finally posted. Olivia's score was finally posted up on the board, 83.765, it was one of the higher scores of those that had been posted in the competition for the night. Now all she had to do was wait for the last four skaters to go to see how things turned out in the end placement wise.
Finally the last of the skaters had gone, scores posted, and now it was time to make the final announcement of winner placements. Olivia was surprised and happy that she had scored well enough to take second place in this particular competition. It was a challenging competition and she had worked hard to make it where she made the podium.
Now that this particular competition was behind her, Olivia was able to take a couple days to rest a little before she started back up on her practice routines to get ready for the next competition in a couple months.
