Brief Interview with Ms Elisha Pryce-Randal - onboard Ship Reporter

EPR: What is your role on the Elysium? And what does it entail?

I am the ships Chief Tactical Officer. My position is usually on the bridge where my tactical station is one of the primary weapons control stations. It allows me to control the ship's phasers, torpedoes, and shields. I can also control and access communications functions as well as the ship's long range sensors.

EPR: What made you choose that line of work?

I wanted a position on the bridge that would be involved in critical confrontation scenarios. As part Klingon I am especially suited to this. I wanted to be able to give my commanding officer and my crew mates the best chance in every scenario we might have that has potential danger.

EPR:How do you handle the pressure that comes with being a Starfleet officer?

Starfleet Officers are very highly trained individuals, we learn at the Academy how to cope with many situations, we do this over and over again until it becomes second nature to us. Off duty I have my hobbies that help release pressure. Physical health is also very important to me, it helps to reduce stress, increase productivity and encourages good communications between myself and the crew. As part Klingon I use a lot of aggression in my position to help negate this I use a lot of holodeck time using specific fighting techniques.

EPR: What would you say to a cadet aspiring to do what you do?

Work hard, be diligent and if you can, find a mentor but at all times be true to yourself. Try to become a small part of a whole and take it from there. But more than anything enjoy the experience. Find something you can excel in be it flying, sport

EPR: What is your favorite memory of your time at the academy?

Studying in Professor Scarrions warp theory class at the Academy in San Francisco. It was the middle of winter and a lightening storm came down. The rain and wind were relentless lashing at the windows, the bay was black with storm clouds but the feeling of warmth and companionship with my peers in the room was palpable. I knew right there and then that I would be all right, I was in the right place.

EPR: Do you have any funny tales to tell about your time on the USS Elysium?
I am new to the ship and do not know many people yet. Being Klingon it is not necessary for us to have fun, so, no.

Please Note:-I am the ships Chief Tactical Officer and Security Chief. My position is usually on the bridge where my tactical station is one of the primary weapons control stations. It allows me to control the ship's phasers, torpedoes, and shields. I can also control and access communications functions as well as the ship's long range sensors. I am responsible for all security on board and have a staff of security officers working directly under my control.

Which basically means Commander Lia Taylor (Chief of Security) No longer has a job, and is simply a passenger. Am I upset and offended? You bet your sweet life I am, I wasn't a fan of splitting my job in two. This just proves my point, talk about insulting someone and getting away with it.
