Phoenix had time and she was going to make the most of it. She all but skipped down to Kara and Malakai’s cabin on deck 19 and hit the chime.

Kara was sitting on the sofa having a rest while Ezri played with her toys, when the chime rang, sensing Phoenix outside she called her to enter.

Phee grinned at her sister in law as she entered. "Hello Kara" she said brightly. "I have come to kidnap my niece for the day. I figure she could come and be my assistant on the bridge."

“Seriously?” Kara grinned as she looked at Phoenix. “Are you sure you want a two and a half year old on the bridge?”

"Hey do not question my madness" Phee grinned as she plonked herself down beside the pair. "Besides, I think it would be cute to watch Gary and the other bridge crew try to keep her off of consoles."

Kara couldn’t help but grin at the thought. “I doubt she’d cause too much chaos, but who knows!” She looked at Ezri. “Hey sweetheart, auntie Phee wants to take you to see somewhere special.”

Phee grinned at Ezri. "It will be fun and I have a" She lowered her voice "A cookie stash in my office."

The little girl’s face lit up like a light at the mention of cookies.

“Ohh now you’ve done it!” Kara laughed. “Ezri loves cookies! Especially chocolate ones, just be careful as it tends to wind her up.”

"Aunts prerogative" Came the reply from Phee. "And of course there is chocolate, my favorite type"

Kara couldn’t help but grin. “Mine too! Just save me some cookies!”

"Of course," Phee replied. She then said to Kara "Um... keep a secret?" she asked softly.

Kara looked at Phoenix curiously. “Of course...What’s up?”

Phee lowered her voice. "I beat Matt in a spar... knocked out a tooth" she said softly so Ezri could not hear. "I couldn't not tell you, just don't tell Mal"

Kara couldn’t help but giggle. “Seriously!? I bet Matt wasn’t very pleased about that? I promise I won’t tell Mal.”

"Not pleased is an understatement. But I know how to calm the beast and the price I have to pay for it." Phee smiled. "I think he has calmed down enough though."

Kara nodded. “Matt doesn’t like to lose, not even to his wife!” She smiled a wry smile. “I’m sure he’ll find a suitable punishment for it.”

Phee's cheeks were red. "Yeah already done but I am sure there will be more. Including the obligatory sulk."

Kara giggled. “I know! Men are good at that one aren’t they?”

Phee nodded "Matt is very good at the sulk."

“To be honest I’ve never seen him do that!” Kara giggled. “You’re seriously going to have to record him doing that for me!! Great bribery material too.”

Phee laughed "Oh I will. That said, I have my fair share, you should have seen him when I assigned him and Mal to the same task on the Watch. He was trying very hard not to kill me."

“I bet!!” Kara giggled. “They’ve hardly ever seen eye to eye, and I doubt they ever will. The only thing they do agree on is me!”

Phee nodded. "Very true. Now, may i kidnap my niece? I have a command chair I think that will fit her. Gary may not be happy but hey"

Kara grinned. “Sure” she moved to hold out her hand to Ezri. “Sweetheart, Auntie Phee is going to take you somewhere very exciting!” She lifted Ezri onto her knee to give her a hug and a kiss. “Mummy will be right here okay?”

The two year old looked a little uncertain as she hugged Kara, before she moved a little closer to Phoenix.

Phee let Ezri come to her, and stood and reached down to pick her up. "Do not worry Ezri, Cookies and ice cream are waiting."

Ezri gently held on around Phoenix’s neck. Giving Kara a little wave as she did so.

Kara grinned as she blew Ezri several kisses. Her daughter was a wonderful miracle that up until now had lived with Malakai’s sister.

With a smile, Phee headed out the door. "Lets go hunt down those cookies and ice cream before Mr Gary finds them" she said with a wink to Kara.

Kara grinned. “If you need me you know where to find me!” She stifled a yawn. “I’ll be taking a well earned nap.”

"Enjoy!" Phee called and escaped with her newest niece and began talking to Ezri about the fun they were going to have.

Watching them go Kara got up and headed for the bedroom. Now was the perfect time to get the rest her pregnancy was demanding.
