Captains Log, 72376.013

It is strange, looking death in the face. Looking your future in the face and considering the options that you may or may not have or take. We left the Alternate Crew of the USS Elysium on their planet, and at their request launched several beacons and before we entered the spacial rift our scanners picked up several Federation vessels exiting warp. It is our hope that those who wanted to, will find their way back to the stars.

Now we are on our way, back to DS9, heart sore, confused and not a little relieved that we did not suffer the same fate as our alternates.

I know Jaeih has copied the logs and history of that Alternate universe and has been discussing it with the scientists and historians on Earth by Subspace.

I know a number of crew are facing their own epiphanies from that visit. Mine is pretty harsh. Facing a family, a death, a man who never gave up on his love for me, was confronting. And hurtful, when I consider what the Ken in my life did, by severing the connection between us. But I have shoved those feelings deep down. I can't allow it to affect my command. I cannot allow it to affect me. Not any more.

Our ETA to DS9 is 2 hours. Once there, I will have the crew released to shore leave for 5 days. New crew will board then as well.
