Grunting to push herself through the damaged jeffries tube hatch, Addison fell onto the deck of Deck 24. She hadn't run into anyone which scared her the most. Where was everyone? At least one of the secondary shuttlebays were on this deck. If she could get to a shuttle, then perhaps she could establish communications--and a functioning replicator as she wasn't fond of running through a damaged ship in a tank top and shorts. Pushing herself off the deck, she slowly stood and looked down both corridor directions. The corridor here was also only lit by emergency lighting.
Upon getting her bearing, she moved off in the direction of the shuttlebay, though she knew she had a way to go as the shuttlebay would be in stardrive section of the deck, meaning she would have to traverse the entire deck. She jogged down the corridor, hoping each section ahead of her would be clear when she came to her first obstacle--a fallen support beam. "Shit," she cursed, coming to a stop as she looked at the fallen beam and mess of cables and wiring that hung down from a panel that had given out.
Turning around, she headed to the intersection she had just passed and tried to recall the layout of the deck from memory but wasn't helping as she was new to the Elysium. "Damn this ship for being so big," she mumbled to herself before deciding to head off to her left when she came across a door labeled "Repair shop." Deciding she may need a tool, she tried to push the door open without success. She looked at the door panel and removed the plating after a moment of grunting as she pulled on it. She knew enough that unguarded doors could be opened by reversing the polarity of the wire leads to the panel. As she switched the wires, nothing happened. Then it hit her. 'Helps if the main power is on Addison, you simpleton,' she thought to herself as she stood, thankful nobody was around to notice her little goof.
Letting out a sigh, she was forced to give up her attempt at getting into the repair shop as the emergency mechanical release would be located on the inside of the room. She moved away from the door and continued her journey down the corridor. Rounding the corner, she came to another issue--more jumble of wires hanging down from the ceiling halfway to the deck. "Come on," she moaned, placing her hands on her hips. Realizing she had to go this way to the shuttlebay, she decided to study the obstacle before her.
'If I can just stay low enough, I should be ok,' she thought as a groan resonated throughout the deck. 'Better make it quick, Addison.' Sighing, she committed herself to the task. "Yppie Kai Yay," she mumbled before jogging towards the wires and dropping down to the deck and low crawling under the wires just as another groan resonated before the ship shook. 'Move, move, move Addison!' She forced herself to crawl faster just as the ceiling paneling overloaded, causing the wires to drop to the deck where she had been a mere moment prior. 'Damn that was close,' she thought to herself as she quickly pushed herself to her feet.
Turning, she continued her journey towards the shuttlebay while hoping to meet someone--anyone along the way.
