Having heard the commotion coming from where Yamoshita was, Alicia had watched Savar’s interaction with Yamoshita with interest. As he headed out of the doors she quickly caught him up, wanting to have a quick chat with him regards what had happened.

“Lieutenant!” She smiled as she caught Yamoshita up. “I’m Alicia Kelea-Salik, Chief Counsellor, May I talk with you?”

Yuto was in a hurry because he wished to be a part of the rescue. He saw this delay as a distraction and it came out in irritation. The last thing he needed was a counselor digging into his mind.

“Yes Counselor,” Lieutenant Yamoshita sharply replied, immediately regretting the outward show of emotion. “I’m sorry!” as he continued. “I have not been myself lately.”

Alicia nodded. “I understand Lieutenant, controlling emotions is something that Vulcans pride themselves on, I noticed your exchange with Commander Savar. Savar happens to be my husband so I understand Vulcans better than most. I know now isn’t the best time for a counselling session, but is there anything I can do to help you for the here and now?”

Yuto thought of all he was dealing with. It must appear to others he belongs in room with padded walls and wearing a jacket with his arms tied behind him.

Yamoshita gave a nervous laugh. “I’m sorry, counselor. A counseling session for me would take quite a bit of time. That’s something we don’t have right now.”

“I know we don’t Lieutenant” Alicia nodded in agreement. “As long as you’re sure you can hold yourself together.”

“Frankly Commander,” the Lieutenant responded, “right now, I only know I must do what I can to help. Not the right time for me to dwell upon my own problems. There are people on this ship that are in need of help, and I can help them.”

Alicia nodded. “I understand, we all want to help our friends and colleagues. None of us knows the true extent of damage to the ship yet, just don’t end up getting yourself hurt again okay?” She offered an understanding smile.

“Thank you Commander,” Yamoshita appreciatively replied.

He turned to leave, but it was then her introductory words struck him. She introduced herself as Savar’s wife. How could a Vulcan that was so adept at suppressing his emotions have landed such a beautiful wife? This added to his confusion.

Yuto turned back toward Alicia. “You are Savar’s wife?”

Alicia smiled and nodded. “I am, it surprises you that Savar has a wife who isn’t Vulcan? Just because he doesn’t show it, it doesn’t mean that my husband doesn’t feel love. I feel, and see that love every day. In a Vulcan partnership being bonded means for life, if one is lost the other would die unless bonded again within seven years. In my case I’m not sure how that would work, with my not being Vulcan. Though I hope never to find out.” She smiled warmly.

“Since you are his wife,” Yamoshita humbly replied, “and he will be training me in Vulcan ways, I confess I have much anger to work through. Perhaps you two can collaborate on this project.”

Alicia nodded. “I will suggest it to Savar, but he’s more than capable of helping you. I would like to talk to you again though when you have more time.”

Yamoshita smiled, glad that someone took the time to recognize he need help and offer to help. “I promise! Actually, I’m looking forward to getting it all out!”

“Well that’s a good sign” Alicia smiled warmly. “I know there’s a lot to do right now with the status of the ship and crew as it is, so we’ll talk when you have more time.”

Yamoshita nodded in agreement. He realized that if he didn’t deal with what was inside of him, he wails fail at finding who he was born to be. “Thank you, counselor.”

Yuto turned and headed for the shuttle bay. He was grounded, but knew he could and should help in this situation.

Watching Yamoshita go Alicia turned to head back into Sickbay, she was of more use there than she was anywhere else right now.
