Thor and Athena stopped by Starbase Cochran to see Thor’s cousin Leif. Leif’s Starbase just received 10000 bars of latinum. The bars would placed in the hangar bay with a triple force field making sure no one beamed it out.

The security was tight especially all of a sudden there seemed a convention of Ferengi ships waiting to get their hands on the bars. There was some notable ships like Latinum Queen, the Best Deal, Seventh Rule and Midas Touch.

Now the owner of all this latinum was a Jewish former Admiral of the Federation named Admiral Chris Solomon who came from a well off family from Oxfordshire, England. After he retired after the Dominion War, he taught for awhile at Oxford in their Business Classes. Now he is looking to give all of this latinum to the Bajoran government. It was to pay for a large strip of land to set up a textile manufacturing company.

Chris’s wealth increase twelve fold by appealing to old fashion clothing and other items that were not replicated. So he set up satellite manufacturing warehouses across the universe. Now it was time to set up one on Bajor.

Thor, Leif and Athena along with security had already caught seven scams which all seem legit of ones representing the Bajoran government. Leif had personally met the true ones who would help with the exchange.

Finally the Bajoran representative Kira Kalente, no immediate relationship of Kira Nerys showed up. They inspected the latinum and it was the amount which was agreed upon.

All of a sudden five groups of sorted kind of pirates showed up all trying to hold them up. Leif was prepared for this as what each group was prepared for was not prepared for was one of the groups was actually a bogus group made up of security officers dressed up as ruffians.

So before the pirates knew it, they were all disarmed and in the brig. Kalente remarked, “Commander Magnus, how did you figured this was going to happen?”

“This was a classic early twenty first century technique made popular by museum thieves and time share sales people,” Leif answered. “One shows confusion by multiple people doing it, it confuses everyone where people can not think. I had my men trained for this scenario. We trained for many scenarios.”

“We were taught to us by a teacher at the academy,” Athena responded. “It is important to keep your cool.”

Kalente smile. “I could relate. Sisko and Worf did similar tactics during the Dominion War.”

Leif nodded.

A few hours later, the latinum were securely on the Bajoran ship along Admial Solomon.

Back on the base, Thor and Athena were helping Leif entertain the Ferengis by helping them make deals. By the time the group left, seventy eight deals were made.

Thor and Athena went back to their quarters. Thor’s mind was preoccupied as Athena stepped into the other part of the guest quarters. The next day their ship would be back. So Athena removed everything she had on and went back into the other room to make love to her husband passionately as they conceived their first child.
