Cerese makes Three

Gary, with Cerese at his side headed to the daycare where LL was at. As they arrived, he spotted her and gave a little wave. When she saw him, she took off like a rocket, jumping into his arms. "Hiya Daddy!' she greeted, kissing him on the cheek.

"Hiya LL." He greeted and returned her kiss with one of his own on her cheek. "Have you got everything so we can go home?"

"Uh huh, Ready to go." LL replied and then turned in Gary's arms and looked at Cerese. "Who are you?" She asked.

Cerese offered a warm and friendly smile. “I’m Cerese Gemini, I’m new onboard. Your daddy wanted us to meet.”

LL looked at Gary and then back to Cerese. "Oh." She replied then wiped her hand on her shirt and thrust it at Cerese, "I'm Liarrana but everyone calls me LL."

“It’s nice to meet you LL” Cerese grinned as she shook Lia’s hand. “I’ve been hearing very good things about you from your father.”

"I love my Daddy. He takes me to the arbor.... the park where the ducks are. I feed them crackers." LL informed Cerese.

“That sounds wonderful” Cerese smiled. “Maybe we could all go along and feed the ducks one day? I’d like to see your arboretum.”

LL nodded. "You would like it. Lots of ducks, they quack when I feed them." She said matter of fact. "I think you would like it, right Daddy?" She said looking at Gary. "Right pumpkin." Gary answered with a smile.

Cerese couldn’t help but smile at the relationship between Gary and his adoptive daughter. “I think I would love that, my people believe all animals are special, they all have a place and purpose in nature.”

LL cocked her head to one side as Cerese spoke but didn't understand what Cerese was saying. "What do you mean?" She asked Cerese.

Cerese smiled. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to confuse you. We believe that all life is special, from little girls to the tiniest of creatures.” She grinned.

LL shook her head, "I love animals. I think I want to be an animal doctor when I get big."

“Now that is a wonderful vocation LL, one that requires a lot of dedication and someone as special as you.” Cerese smiled warmly.

LL positively beamed at Cerese's words. "I like her Daddy. She says nice things." LL looked at Cerese as a worried look came to her face. "What is a voc... that word you said?"

“Ohh vocation...its another word for a job, or a career.” Cerese smiled warmly.

"Voc,,,ation." LL repeated slowly. "I like job better. my job is a animal doctor."

“Then animal doctor it is” Cerese smiled at Gary. “Sounds like your daughter already has her career planned Captain.”

Gary chuckled and looked at Cerese and then at LL. "I believe you are right Cerese. Dr. LL Taylor has a nice ring to it. Don't you think LL?" He asked his daughter. She nodded her head excitedly and hugged him. "Yes Daddy!" She exclaimed.

“How’s about we all have dinner in your lounge one of these nights? I’ve missed being able to enjoy the freedom this ship offers me, it would be nice to have company.” Cerese smiled warmly.

LL squealed at Cerese's suggestion. "Oh Daddy! Can we please do that? Can we please have dinner with Miss Cerese?" She asked excitedly.

"Of course we can LL, we just need to decide on a time." Gary answered with a smile.

"Well, can we go feed the ducks now? Miss Cerese can come with us there." LL
asked.

Cerese looked at Gary, it was his decision after all.

"Well Cerese, would you like to accompany us to feed the ducks and quite possibly get an ice cream as well? Gary said the last for LL's sake. he knew how she loved ice cream.

“Sure, I’d love to!” Cerese nodded and smiled, it was good to feel wanted again after spending so long as a slave.

Gary nodded, "Then let us be off. I know certain young who is just itching to feed the ducks and then hopefully get an ice cream cone."

"Me Daddy, me." LL said, a bright smile on her face. She was Gary's little ray of sunshine.

Cerese couldn’t help but smile, it reminded her of her own childhood with her parents. “I think ice cream sounds wonderful, and you can enjoy feeding those ducks.”

LL shook her head, "You feed the ducks as well. So they know you and won't be afraid." She explained in the seriousness of a three-year-old but then her face brightened at the mention of ice cream. "I like chocolate ice cream." She stated.

“To be honest I’ve never tried Chocolate ice cream, but I’d like to” Cerese grinned. “We’re going to have great fun!”

LL grinned at her, "Get one like me." LL said before looking at her father, "Daddy likes vanilla or orange sherbet." She relayed proudly.

Cerese gave Gary a warm smile. “I’ll have to try all of them at some point, but I’ll start with chocolate.” She grinned playfully. “You have a wonderful daddy you know that?”

Gary returned Cerese's smile and then looked at LL, "Looks like you may have someone who loves ice cream as much as you do LL. I don't know if there is enough ice cream onboard the Elysium if that is true." Gary teased his daughter.

Cerese couldn’t help but grin, Gary was a nice guy and a wonderful father. LL was a very lucky little girl.

As the trio made their way to the arboretum, LL happily talked about the ducks and the merry go round and of course ice cream. Soon they arrived and Gary held LL's hand as they went and got some breadcrumbs from one of food dispensers around the pond. He smiled at Cerese, "You might as well as get some breadcrumbs as well. When you start feeding, all the ducks come to get some food."

Cerese nodded. “Sounds fun to me.” She offered a smile before going to get some feed, returning with feed the replicator had given her on request for duck food. She smiled as they started feeding the ducks, she was having a fun time and was grateful for Gary’s caring nature.

Gary held the breadcrumbs as LL laughed and giggled as the ducks came to her to be fed. It was a wonderful moment to spend time with his daughter and seeing her happy and enjoying herself made the moment even more special. He glanced at Cerese standing close to him saw her smiling as well. Yes, this was a special moment, one the three of them could always look back on fondly.
