Not My Piece of the Action

Commander Leif Magnus was captured by an Iotian Capone Crime Family, a family who adopted the name Capone from the old Chicago Mob Family.

“So Starfleet guy,” Antonio Capone said looking at Leif, “You found the base for our Drugs and Weapons Factory. Before we kill you, tell us how you found us.”

Leif grinned. His hands were tied behind his back at the moment. “What time do you have? Is it midnight yet?”

Antonio looked at his watch carefully. “Station time is three minutes till midnight. Why?”

“Because shortly,” Leif said looking out the port window,” My crew are going to arrive to shut down this operation. You made a mistake or should I said say your henchman Ferdie Franco here sold your Calypso drug to the wrong person. He put a tracer on him and now I am here.”

Antonio turned to Ferdie slapping him. “I told you to always be careful. Listen Starfleet, how about we cut you on the piece of the action.”

“This is not my action,” Leif said as he had his hands were untied. He stood up as quickly disarmed Ferdie and Antonio of their weapons. “Now listen to me. Starfleet has rules on dealing with Iotians. This is the deal, you get out of the Calypso Drug Trade and you can keep yours arms manufacturing because Starfleet is one of your customers.”

“Oh come on,” Antonio said very angry, “Calypso is like your marijuana. It is harmless.”

“Harmless unless you count how it makes people lethargic and zone out,” Leif said firmly. “Plus can not pilot shuttles under the influence.”

At that moment , twelve Starfleet officers beamed in with phasers locked including his cousin Thor.

“Must be midnight now,” Leif grinned. “So do we have a deal.”

Antonio understood the gig was up. “Understood. So there is no hard feelings, be our guest on the station.”

“Wish I could,” Leif answered, “But are just here to shut down the drug business.”

“Understood,” Antonio grunted.

For the next six hours, they dismantled the drug manufacturing facility. It was not an easy task. One of the officers found the facility was trying to create calypso hybrid. The chemist had almost perfected the drug which could cause recipients to be placed into a coma.

“Antonio,” Leif asked, “Do you know about this?”

Antonio was about to slug Leif but Thor intervened. “Now what Commander?, “ Thor said calling him by his rank.

“We leave this to JAG,” Leif responded.

Antonio laugh a bit since he knew there were several Iotians in JAG. “I will be out before you know it.”

Leif processed the arrest of the Iotians. In the trial, the chemist took the fall for everything. Antonio looked at Leif winking he was living on borrow time.

Fortunate for Leif, Antonio and his gang was massacred by a rival gang sixteen months later.

Leif called his cousin letting him know the fate of this branch of the Capone gang.

Thor replied back, “Not our action.”
