Kett had been on the the USS Elysium, for over nine months. He had joined the crew just prior to their misadventure into another galaxy. In that time the Crew, despite some shore leave, had been flat out on repairs and encounters. It had been, as the humans would say; flat out. Ket as a Marine Pilot, usual confined himself to the drop hanger bays and pilot facilities right at the bottom of the USS Elysium. He would sometime make an excursion up a few decks to the marine county, better known as the marine barracks, but he had not really taken much of an opportunity to explore much of the giant vessel they called home. So Ket had made it to the Arcadia Bar, however how come to find it almost empty as he walked in.

If there was one thing Teevs liked to do, it was observe. Much of his time outside of helping the Elysium crew and working on his ship was spent in the Promenade, where many civilians and officers alike would mingle. He had met quite a few people that way. However, with the ship docked at the Wandering Child, extracurricular activity across the ship had dropped as people took the opportunity to explore the alien station/church. This prompted Teevs to try out a new location, the Arcadia Bar. He hadn't been in it yet, and it was no more active than his usual spots in the Promenade, but it was new. He was occupying one of the lounge chairs, his head gently bobbing to the soft music that hovered in the air. The quiet movement of the doors prompted the Lonian to turn his head, and he gave a friendly smile to the newcomer.

Ket nodded politely to the man in the corner. This was not the only individual who had turned to look at the newcomer entering the bar. Ket put it in mind of one of those old classic earth westerns he had seen whilst at starfleet academy. He went to the bar to get himself a drink

Teevs watched him get a drink and decided he could get a refill of his own beverage, some soda-like beverage that Hans had introduced him to at Das Alpine Haus. Standing, he approached the bar, stopping a respectable distance from the newcomer, and silently asked the bartender for another. "Have you had a chance to meet the A'janie yet?" he asked conversationally.

The Vulcan raised one quizzical eyebrow on his emotional façade "A'janie Sir? Apologies I am unfamiliar with the name." Kett was not familiar with term. Nor the individual asking asking the query. Though Kett did respect the persons approach and mannerism. They carried themselves casually and yet professionally.

"Oh, apologies! That's the name of the species who maintain the church," Teevs clarified, gesturing toward the window, where the station was in view. This was one of the few faces he hadn't really seen around the ship, and admittedly he was curious. This seemed to be the same species as N'vok, a Vulcan if he remembered correctly. "They are a kind people, and their facilities are impressive."

Kett nodded thoughtfully as he looked out of the window "Ah I see. It is informative to have a name given to the 'church.' We dont get briefed on such particulars down in the fighter drop bays only where to fly to."

Teevs could understand that logic. "If you are able to visit, I highly recommend it. You're one of the fighter pilots?" He knew a group of them existed on board, Addison being one of them, but they usually stayed in a part of the ship he didn't have permission to visit, so it was difficult to meet them.

"Yes indeed sir. Marine Captain Kett V'Laass. At your service sir." Responed the emotionless Vulcan politely. "I fly a Gryphon Fighter/Bomber for the USS Elysiums fighter attack wing....And you are?" Queried the Vulcan ans he left the question hanging

"Teevs Dosivi," the Lonian responded with a smile. "The Elysium helped my daughter and I when our ship got damaged, and I am returning the favor by doing what I can to make your journey home easier."

"Well thank you kindly for your continued support" responded Kett with no feeling in his voice but offering his hand out to shake. "I am sure that we will be needing your further input as we travers this unknown region of space"

With a smile, Teevs accepted the extended hand. "Of course!" Turning to his drink, the Lonian took a contemplative sip. "Are there vessels like the Wandering Child where you are from?"

Kett shook his head "nothing so Baroque in its architectural design, nor in its size. In comparison the USS Elysium is one of the larger starfleet designs in the fleet. Though we have relations with other galactic civilisations that have larger designs in craft. Though, as an observation, these civilisations are normally militaristic in nature."

"Computer, what does 'baroque' mean?" Teevs asked, tilting his head slightly. He listened to the response before nodding, his momentary confusion replaced by understanding. "It is interesting just how similar our galasies are. Of the species I've traded with, about half originally developed their ships for some type of militaristic actions, be it defending territory, growing their territory, or simply not wanting to be seen as a target. The other half developed ships for trading or to essplore."

Kett nodded in agreement as he ordered them both another drink from the bar "Trade, Exploration, Conquest. All could be seen as pillars of a galactic civilisation"

There was a brief pause where Teevs nodded, then finished his drink. "If you have the time, I do recommend you visit the church, at minimum to appreciate the architecture. And if you want company, I will happily oblige."

"Indeed" responded the Vulcan with a proffering of his glass. "I am ingratiated to you sir."
