Gary sat on the bench he and Lia had sat on when they visited the arboretum. it was in a quiet corner where one could
sit and if they wanted to reflect. Which is precisely why Gary was here. He was in a reflective mood and had much to
think on. Lia, dear sweet, feisty Lia was still in a stasis tube in Sickbay a victim of some unknown alien virus. Doc Sthilg
was working overtime in trying to find not only a cure but where the ailment may have originated from. He was calling on
all his years as a doctor to find a solution. As he worked feverishly to find a cure, Gary waited and continued to wait and
as he waited, he thought of LL the daughter he and Lia had adopted and who had captured his heart. She was his ray of
sunshine. She was full of boundless energy and love. She kept him busy with trips here to feed the ducks or nighttime bedroom
stories or a thousand other things which he needed to keep from dwelling on Lia. Then there were his friends some gone that he missed terribly, Liselle and Matias were two that sprung to mind. Liselle with her wide-eyed innocence and her boundless compassion and her unselfish capacity to care. Matias, the former chief engineer of the Elysium. A native of the Andromeda galaxy. A stranger in a strange land who had unquestioned loyalty to the crew and ship. Who had proved time and time again not only his engineering prowess but his friendship as well. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply. He still missed them both deeply and knew he always would.
Opening his eyes, he thought of the friends he had. Phoenix, his friend and commanding officer and her sense of duty and friendship. Always going the extra mile for the crew and ship. Never asking more of them that she wouldn't ask of herself. Her
husband Mattias, as solid a man and friend one could ever ask for. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand be it for
ship or crew. Alicia, the compassionate chief counselor of the Elysium. With her quiet inner strength of compassion and warm soothing words of support. As well as her unparallel ability to always see a positive outcome in the bleakest of situations. There were others of course, Rin, the exBorg who served as third officer of the Elysium and Chief Intelligence. Who remained unruffled no matter what the situation. Who he had hurt because of his own actions, he was still trying to repair the damage to their friendship. Naxea, the Marine CO. Who was as tough as nails, always the first to lead her marines into any situation. he was glad for her strength and loyalty. S'hib, the Chief of Security, he had taken over when Lia had fallen ill and had proved to be a successful leader. His sense of duty went above and beyond any expectations. Sthilg the Gorn CMO whose unmatched medical knowledge was only matched by his care for his patients. then there was Tate, Max, Lissa, Sam, Kara and Malakai. V'laass. Kyle the Elysium's second officer and rock in his support. Along with Anna Esquivias, Forstinger, Magnus the CEO who kept the Elysium together after being stranded here. N'Vok the Vulcan chief science officer, always looking for the path less traveled to get the ship and crew home. J'Air, the ACMO whose ability and talent were much appreciated by all. Orin the chief diplomat who often went where angels feared to tread. He smiled as he knew beyond any shadow of a doubt that they were a family, and they would survive and get home as a family and that knowledge allowed him to go on for Lia, for LL for the crew, his family.
