The Backdoor ( Roll Call )

Thor was enjoying the opera called Aida in Holosuite Two with his loving Athena when his comm badge went off.

“Lieutenant Magnus,” Petty Officer Alan Brody said clearing his throat, “We seem to have a malfunction in Holosuite Three. Engineers are unable to enter but we have a back door we can use in the one you in. It is imperative we fix it promptly or the ones trapped in the suite might be trapped in the suite for a very long time. One of our Siren officers using an underwater apparatus has caused a relay back to the main panel for the suite. “

“Backdoor?” Thor asked as his eyebrow went up. “When was this installed and why have I not been informed of this.”

“It was installed by a former crewmate,” Brody replied, “Lieutenant Bond felt it could come in handy one day. In your opera house, there is a Backdoor behind the stage. “

Athena facepalms herself. “How unique to have a Backdoor to be actually a Backdoor. “

“Lieutenant Magnus,” Brody added, “There is a glitch. We can not turn off your program until we fix the other suite’s issue. One of you will have to stay in the opera house while the other goes through the Backdoor.”

Athena thought about the other program. “Thor, you are going to have to stay here. I have been in that program before which makes me more familiar with it.”

Thor exhaled a bit. “I can not argue with you when you are right. Please be safe.”

“I shall,” Athena winked.

Ten minutes later, Athena walked into the other program. She was in a beach house which had several bathing suits. She found a very flattering yet somewhat provocative by human standards bathing suits. Athena remembered Lorelei but she was not the Siren officer in question. The one in this program was Ensign Mara Star. Mara was in here with another Ensign Gawain Murphy.

Mara seeing it was Athena breathed a sigh of relief. “Lieutenant, I am so glad it is you. Gawain and I were involved in our fantasy when he was trapped underwater. Thank the stars he has gills like me. Now he seems to be caught underwater in a compromising position.”

“Oh my,” Athena replied without a blush. “Like you said, it was I who came. Before you show me, why could you not end program?”

“Because he is underwater,” Mara said sadly.

“Of course,” Athena answered, “Let me see why your boyfriend is stuck.”

Mara escorted Athena to the beach. What Athena saw at first puzzled her mind but she then recognized the predicament.

“I see,” Athena said scratching her chin a bit. “Seems the underwater boudoir your program has caused it to eliminate all the doors as would expect this happened when he asked for privacy. Now you can not create a door for him to get out.”

“Exactly,” Mara pouted. “I do not have the authority to create one and he can not communicate talking underwater.”

“Fear not,” Athena grinned. “Computer. Create a door on the top of this boudoir that can be open from both sides.”

Seconds later, the door was created. Gawain came up from being underwater. Mara and Gawain opted to frolic on the beach. Athena bid them goodbye as she went back to the other suite to enjoy the opera with Thor.
