There are moments one must steal in order to keep love alive. Thor and Athena’s lives had been one mission to another mission. There were times in their marriage they had no time for each other. It was bloody miracles they manage to get pregnant twice. Athena loved being pregnant but now she was using birth control. She was her husband Assistant Chief as well, so she wanted to achieve on the job as well. Her desire one day to be her own boss, even if it meant serving on separate ships.

But today, it was the anniversary of not their first date but their third date, the one where they consummated their love everlasting.

Thor walks in to the Holodeck. He grinned to the slight right as he saw what Athena had done which was recreate San Francisco uptown square next to the Knight’s Treasure Hotel.

“You remember,” Thor said as he walked in. “Great attention to detail.”

“Oh I wish I could take the credit for this recreation,” Athena said seductively,”This program has been in the system way before we came on board. It was one Victor’s programs. Apparently we were not the only ones who had memorable moments here.”

“Victor is an enigma if you ask me,” Thor said as he strategically maneuvered his way through the room to Athena. “Coming from another universe and all that.”

“And now he is with Temporal Investigations,” Athena said before she passionately kissing Thor making him forgetting what they were talking about. “Now where was I. Oh yes, I am seducing you.”

Thor blushed a bit. “Well, it is working. So do we do the dance or do we cut to the boudoir?”

“What and miss the Greek music on the bouzouki?” Athena said poking Thor.

An hour later, they were having a nice meal while a Greek trio of musicians played their bouzoukis. They sang several songs in Greek as some were romantic and a couple of the songs seemed sad. Athena and Thor talked for the longest as they felt relieved of leaving the work race for several hours.

“You know Athena,” Thor said placing his left hand on her right hand, “We needed this. Sorry, I do not slow down and talk. I promise to be more attentive. “

Athena whispered, “Let’s finish the dessert and head up to the room.”

“Agreed,”Thor winked.

Few hours later, the two left the Holosuite as they felt this was exactly what their marriage needed.

Thor took a deep breath as he felt recharged. A memory of someone he once knew who passed away twenty years ago this week. His friend had a rare disease which caused cancer. She died much too young and his thoughts came to present as he saw his wife. He felt blessed to have Athena in his life and blessed to have the memories of a special friend who passed away so many years ago.

The next day Athena walked into Engineering. Alice came up to her whispering, “You better cover up that hickie.”

Athena winked. “Of course.”
