N'vok, wearing a simple robe, sat on the side of the bed and stroked Anna's hair. "Good morning. I have brought you some breakfast. I hope it will suit you." He gestured to a tray on the bedside table.

"I would have liked to have let you sleep in, but we both have a busy day ahead sorting out the Zynari business."

Anna sighed at the mention of the Zynari. "A busy day banging our heads against the wall," she said in frustration. "I don't know about you but I don't feel any closer to solving the problem than when we started." She sighed and then smiled, leaning up to kiss him. "Thank you for breakfast."

N'vok returns the kiss, trailing his fingers along her shoulder. "Today, we will make a breakthrough. We should, at last, have enough data to bridge the communication gap in some way."

"I hope so," she said, sounding less optimistic. Still, she leaned up and kissed him again before taking another bite of her breakfast. "I certainly intend to try my hardest."

N'vok returns the kiss. "The beings seem to have some interest in Vulcans, so we are trying two Vulcans, one of whom is me, and a Betazoid, as one of the contact teams. Using the harmonics from our previous adventures in the holodecks, we hope to let them know we want to communicate with them and that they will then do so." He idly strokes his hand down Anna's spine.

She smiled as she rolled onto her side, feeling the hand trail down her spine. Hers reached out to lightly stroke his jaw before she returned to her food. "Be careful, ok?"

"Yes," agreed N'vok. "We are taking what precautions we can. Opening communications will be the best way to resolve these problems." He kissed her on the forehead. "I will let you know what we find out."

He stood. "Now, to do some science," he said, giving Anna a wink.

She nodded. "I hope it goes well."
